Hi Joleen,
Good for you for taking the right steps into place to get you to where you want to be. I'm always looking for motivated people to help each other stay on track. Have sent you a friend request so we can do Fitbit challenges but also feel free to add me on Facebook if you'd like an extra motivational boost. Have a health/fitness group on there I can add you to which I find very helpful 🙂
All are welcome!

Have a great day.

challenge but I am sticking to it. I am fueling my body now instead of
stuffing it with Crap. I am sleeping better and feel better. How are you
doing?

Good for you! Glad it's working. Just started but for sure getting the steps in and then some. Still working on cutting out the crap food, but am losing weight, so going in the correct direction.
What I try to tell people, and many don't get it, that for some people Food is like Booze/Drugs/Smoking, it's can be an addiction, and like any additction it's not as simple as "Stop doing that right now!". The difference is people don't NEED to Smoke, they don't NEED to Drink, they don't NEED to do drugs, but EVERYONE NEEDS to eat! So to me curbing over eatting or eatting the wrong foods is harder then getting over the other addictions. It easy to seperate yourself from the other bad habbits, but you can NEVER not be around or consume food. That's why it's a constant struggle to over come the temptation.
Anyway, keep up the good work! Friend me if you like, always looking for new friends to Challenge and motivate on here.
Regards,
Anthony

I see you are restricting carbs, but it looks as if you are also restricting fats (no egg yolks)?? Could you go into more detail as to what you are restricting?

I am starting over again also today. I just found out that I have a gluten allergy and want to learn how to meal plan so that I stay on track. Since switching to gluten free food my stomach has been feeling so much better.I love the different selections of food and it is not hard to do, but would love to do meal planning to help myself out since I am always on the run.

Great post, Blackbandit! Some really good ideas here. Your efforts are inspiring to the rest of us. Love your use of vegetables. Have you tried roasting cauliflower? That is definitely the best way. So simple. 425 degree oven, drizzle some oil (sparingly with a healthy oil) on cut up cauliflower, and spread in one layer on a large pan with shallow sides. Roast for 25 min or so. This technique brings out a lot of flavour in the veg. I also roast broccoli and carrots.
I've used a Fitbit since '12 and upgraded from a One to the Charge HR almost a year ago. Love both devices, just wanted to track exercise heartrate with my device.
For those trying to lose significant weight, I can relate. I lost 60 lbs and am now 22 lbs below my Weight Watcher Lifetime goal weight. My success is due entirely to: (1) logging food faithfully is vital for me; I use My Fitness Pal which is not only terrific but free and I have to say I like it much better than the Weight Watcher on-line tools. Logging on paper is also entirely do-able if on-line is not your thing; (2) my Fitbit keeps me motivated to, at the very least, get my 12K steps each day; and (3) group exercise at my wonderful YMCA, where I do aerobic, step, circuit, weights, etc. Good luck to us all in this New Year!
