That is awesome. Keep up the good work, you have got this.

I've just started my journey from 316 pounds going down to 130. I've got a long way to go but I will get there.

Sincerely yours,
Big.to.lil.em

Posting on a Monday going forward, instead of hiding from the scale as I usually do after the weekend. I know I'll be down 2lbs or so by the end of the week, but usually just put them right back on the weekend. Trying to break this cycle!

Today: 198

Start: 202

Goal: 137

Good Afternoon KateFitbit,
You can break that cycle, just keep positive and careful of what you eat on the weekends.

Back to yoga today and a pretty active weekend and ate fairly clean.  All of that leaves me at the bottom of my range.  Getting ready for lake season.  Lots of walking, hiking, cycling, etc and I usually eat pretty clean there too - a few extra beers maybe...

Bad news.

Weight gain. It's very easy to be disappointed.

Good news.

1. I'm still 22kg lighter than I was four and a half months ago!

2. Some of the gain is fluid. I made a point yesterday of focussing on hydration.

3. Some of it is weight gain (I'm being honest!), but I know why. Where I've increased my activity level, I've had more of an appetite and have been so pleased with my increased fitness that I've lost focus on controlling portion size. Now that I've noticed the impact, I can refocus my efforts and be more mindful of my portions.

4. I've haven't felt so fit and healthy in very many years!

Very excited!!!!!!Heart weighed this morning at 296.4 pounds, that now brings the total to 20.6 pounds.  I am under my first mini goal of being under 300 pounds.

Mini Goal: under 290 pounds

Final Goal: 130 pounds (but will be happy if I get down to 150 pounds)

@Dave001 - you have a great attitude just keep working out. You may see a little weight gain due to building muscle. Best is to also measure yourself. Then if the weight does go up then you will know that you are still headed in the right direction.Robot Happy

@Dave001 You have been so consistent for so many weeks. That is amazing to me as I limp along. Hang in there and hopefully you'll have a better week this week...

The feeling better you already have is the best motivation and it's own reward already. I'm impressed and inspired by how well you are doing...

@Big.to.lil.em -- Yay!  You are in the 2's!!

@Dave001 -- bummer on the one week increase, but you seem to be all over what is happening and know what to do about it.

One of benefits of this thread is the many insights folks post from week to week.  We are all undergoing our own weight loss/maintenance/body transformation experiments and it is great to learn from all of you.

I'd like to take part in this thread even though I'm now closer to my goal weight.

I was doing a 1000 calorie deficit but in April switched to 750.

Start weight on January 4            160 lb.

Current weight on May 17            132 lb.

Goal weight by June 21                128 lb.

Loss to date                                    27 lb.

Best Answer

Start:            253 lbs

Last Week:  146 lbs

This Week:  142.4 lbs

Change:       -3.6 lbs

Total Loss:  - 110.6 lbs

Goal :           125

Mini Goal:    141 lbs - I will be considered "normal weight" according to BMI charts

So an unexpected big loss. My body sure likes messing with me when it comes to water weight. Next week I'll either lose nothing (best case) or gain (first time ever since start). I guess I'll worry about that next week!

I started losing weight on May 18 of last year. So, today is more or less an anniversary of my start date. The total loss for the past year is 110.6, which I am very happy with. I still have a ways to go before my goal, but at least I should step into the normal BMI range sometime next month, which I am excited about!

Also, I signed up for another 5k during Memorial Day weekend. I figured I have no other plans, so why not? I am going to treat this as a recovery run mostly, because I have another race that is much more competitive coming up on June 6. Basically, treating this one as a fun run!

@Cottongrass - you mentioned wanting to try C25K program. I can't recommend it enough! Aside from the actual weight loss, starting running has been a huge life changer for me. I am so glad that I gave C25K a chance. The program truly works! If you'd like to chat more about it, I'll be happy to offer any tips/advice/suggestions.

@Big.to.lil.em - congratulations on reaching your mini goal! You are doing great!

@Dave001 - I really like your positive attitude! 22kg lost is awesome progress regardless of small bumps along the way!

@jlow - good luck next week!

@justMonica - welcome to the thread! You are so close to your goal weight - must feel great!!

I went backwards this week.Lots of socialising and it shows. I will have to reign myself in a little.

To the newcomers: I think the main thing to do is to stick at it especially when progress is going in the wrong direction. Weighing myself every Monday morning and posting it here gives me an opportunity to reflect on my week. Reading other peoples posts is inspiring and helps me stay focused.

I probably ate 2500 calories with dessert alone on Saturday night (it was a buffet), after two days spent mostly sitting (was attending a conference). I really have a hard time when there’s plenty of food around. Now time to get back on track, much easier in my familiar home environment.
