Weight Loss Goal 50 to 100 Pounds

Hi!

I'm trying to lose 75 pounds, hopefully at a rate of 1.5 pounds per week. I started on my journey a week and a half ago and I'm currently down 3.6 pounds.  I'm looking forward to a healthier lifestyle and if you want friends for extra motivation feel free to add me.  🙂

Welcome Lona!!!!  Don't be ashamed! At least you are out there walking! Who cares what you look like doing it! The only thing that matters is how you will look and feel when you shed the weight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My advice, friend people and interact with them.  If you are someone who responds to challenges participate in the challenges on here!  I personally love the challenges, even when I'm having an off week!  If you find yourself having a down day feel free to reach out to me! 🙂  Good luck!

Hey guys! It's the middle of the week but a perfect day to try a new workout, make a refreshing drink for the summer, or kick the habit of late night eating

How are your goals going?

@LonaS

Wow, with the way I look at the end of a walk...makeup and hairdo just wouldn't survive so I don't bother! LOL I'm a "throw on the baseball hat" and let's go kinda gal.  I'm one scary sight at the end of my walks LOL

I'm not going to tell you anything you don't already know.  Who really cares about how fast they are compared to you?  Your body can only do what it can right now.  Maybe some day you'll walk as quickly as they do....but maybe you won't.  In the end, we all know it's our personal fitness that counts, not how it measures against anyone else.

I know you already know this @LonaS but I'm sure some of us (myself especially) need that reminder sometimes.

Thanks for the links....I love the water ideas and had never heard of parkour before!!!

I've had my fitbit a couple months now.  Hoping to hit 15lbs lost in tomorrow's weigh-in.  I can't believe how a little device on my wrist can be so motivating to reach goals LOL  It's amazing!

I am finally back on track after two weeks of plateau, mostly caused by inactivity and bad choices! I'm down another kilo, which brings me to 14kg (30lbs) lost since May! This has been a stark reminder that nothing happens without effort, since I was feeling a bit complacent because I had lost weight pretty consistently, I slacked off. I cannot say how much the updates and discussion in this group has helped remind me of the importance of getting out there and how even little victories, weight scale or non weight scale are important to improving your health.

Some NSV this week include:

The fastest time I've had on my run/walk route

Fitting into a size 16 bridesmaid's dress for my brother's upcoming wedding

Doing a full 45 minutes on the elliptical.

Noticing my wrists don't look fat while I was driving

Goals for next week include:

resisting the temptation to eat bad things

Run/Walk a 5k in my neighborhood

Hit the gym at least 4 times

What are your victories this week and what are your goals for next week?

Best Answer

Congrats on so many victories, @MsMichelleyk!!!  Good for you!!!

My victories this week:

  • achieved another week of weight loss
  • brought lunch to work each day of the week (except the day I worked from home) - until fitbit and lifestyle change a couple months ago I used to buy lunch every day....I LOVE fast food
  • sticking to my training plan for the charity walk I have in September
  • and I think some of my clothing is starting to feel a little looser

I've reached 16.6 lbs weightloss over the past 2 months.  I'm getting excited about hitting the 20 lb mark which, I hope, will be in 2 weeks.  And, in the meantime I'll continue to appreciate my NSV's as they seem to come and show themselves much easier and faster than just counting the numbers.

Congrats again MsMichelleyk!!!

I'm also inviting others to share some achievements and celebrations - I find it all very inspiring and motivating and, as they say, if you can affect just one person....well, I'm know I'm one person  Smiley Very Happy

I am so happy to hear about your successes!!!!

Here is my checkin:

Successes:

  • Achieved 10lbs lost since I started my journey on June 15.  (Staying on track for 1.5 pounds per week)
  • Lost 1 inch in my waist
  • Earned a Fitbit adjustment on my LoseIt! app every day this week
  • Completed full workout out 3x this week (Saturday, Sunday, Monday)
  • Completed a partial workout 2x this week (Tuesday, Wednesday)
  • Had a rough work week and despite getting out very late every night exhausted I still went home and made dinner instead of buying fast food
  • I had three of my employess on three separate occasions comment on being able to see I'm losing weight!
  • Stayed below my daily calories every day

Challenges:

  • Was too tired to get up early to workout at all 2x this week (Thursday, Friday)
  • One of my associates went to my favorite donut shop and bought me an Apple Fritter. (My favorite)  I ate 1/2 of it and gave 1/2 away.  Sort of a win, but I really wanted to be able to turn it down completely.
  • Did not achieve my 10,000 step goal any day this week
  • Did not drink my required water 3x this week
  • I struggled balancing a rough work week while staying on track.  This discouraged me early on this week and it was hard to pull myself out of it.

Goals for next week:

  • Workout 5x
  • Stay Below Daily Calories
  • Hit a goal of 10,000 steps 6x
  • Stay on track on my travel day (I'm flying back to Maine for one week for work on Friday)

Good luck to all of you in achieving your goals this week!

Hello all! I'm looking for some friends on here! I have to lose 157 pounds because I want to join the Air Force. So far I have lost 6 pounds (I'm only a week in 👍🏻) my husband is a great man, but not supportive to helping me when I want to sleep in instead of getting my hind end in the gym.

Discouraged ... Finally yesterday I walked over 10,000 steps, and was so happy.  The bad part of it was that my fitbit stopped syncing to my dashboard yesterday, too!!!  It hasn't recorded anything past 356 steps yesterday.  Today is a total blank.  No matter how many times and ways, I couldn't get it to sync.  Did I waste my money of this equipment that doesn't work?  Any suggestions?

Phyllis I'm so proud of you!!!!!!!!!!

If your Fitbit is not syncing I would try restarting it.  Restarting it does not delete your data. I’m not sure which Fitbit you have so I included instructions for all of them below:

Ultra:

  1. Plug your base station into your computer's USB port.
  2. Place your tracker on the base station.
  3. Press the gold button on the underside of the base station with a toothpick, pen tip, or paper clip.
  4. Your Ultra should now work normally.

One:

  1. Plug your charging cable into your computer.
  2. Plug your One tracker into the charging cable, making sure that the gold contacts on your tracker align with the gold contacts in the inside of the charger.
  3. Hold down your tracker's button for 10-12 seconds.
  4. Remove your tracker from the charging cable and press its button until the screen turns on.

Zip:

  1. Open the battery door using the battery door tool and remove the battery.
  2. Wait 10 seconds.
  3. Place the battery back into the tracker with the "+" side facing up, and close the door.

Flex:

  1. Plug your charging cable into the USB port and insert your tracker into the charging cable.
  2. Insert a paperclip into the small pinhole on the back of the charger.
  3. Press on the pinhole for 3-4 seconds.

Force:

  1. Plug your charging cable into the USB port and insert the other end into the port on the back of your Force. Your Force will begin charging.
  2. Press and hold the button for 10 to 12 seconds until you see the Fitbit icon and a version number (e.g. "V30").
  3. Let go of the button.
  4. Unplug your tracker from the charging cable.

Charge:

  1. Plug your charging cable into the USB port and insert the other end into the port on the back of your Charge. Your Charge will begin charging.
  2. Press and hold the button for 10 to 12 seconds until you see the Fitbit icon and a version number (e.g. "V30").
  3. Let go of the button.
  4. Unplug your tracker from the charging cable.

Charge HR:

  1. Plug your charging cable into the USB port and insert the other end into the port on the back of your Charge HR. Your Charge HR will begin charging.
  2. Press and hold the button for 10 to 12 seconds until you see the Fitbit icon and a version number (e.g. "V30").
  3. Let go of the button.
  4. Unplug your tracker from the charging cable.

Surge:

  1. Press and hold the Home and Select buttons (left and bottom right) on your Surge for 10 to 15 seconds, until you see the screen flash or start to dim.
  2. Let go of the buttons.
  3. After your screen turns completely off, wait 10 seconds and press the Home button to turn your Surge back on.

If your tracker still doesn't work after a restart, contact Customer Support.

Hi Lisa,
Thank you for all the information you provided me. I have the Fitbit One.
Unfortunately I had already found and followed the instructions you sent me
to sync my information to the dashboard, but it still did not sync. I got
so frustrated that I deleted the entire program app from my computer and to
make it worse, I can not figure out how to reload the app. So discouraged.

There it is, I saw the discussion name "weight loss goal 50 to 100" and yes I need to lose 50 or 60 lbs.  At 5 feet exactly (171 lbs)  I've got to do something.  Trying to figure out how I got so off track.  I mean last year I was selling my jewelry to pay for gym membership and personal training.  Now I've gained back most of the weight.  I got a slight boost of enthusiasm when my Fitbit Flex arrived, but my willpower is gone.

I do like the challenges so if anyone wants to friend me email. myrnajune@yahoo.com

Hi Phyllis - you REALLY need to contact customer service and have them send you a new one.  It's crazy that you're having to go through this especially if it's messing with your motivation.  Keep on walking no matter what because in the end it's steps that count, not the equipment.  But that being said - tell fitbit that they need to give you a new one.  I'm sure they will.

Hello Friends,

I think it’s been almost a week since I checked in. First things first – I ate a Rocky Road bar. I enjoyed it immensely, and I’m happy to wait another 6 months for my next one. That being said, it wasn’t a great week for me. The past couple of weeks have been ridiculously stressful. Week 1 of 2 I was able to pretty much stay the course. I lost 2.4 pounds bringing me over 10 for the 4 weeks. But last week, with my cycle, and the stress combined, let’s just say there were some not so successful choices made.

Well neither my motivation or commitment has wavered and I’m actually really enjoying my ww meetings each week. I did not have a scale friendly weigh in today but that would be due to a few factors 98% of which yes, were all within my control. 2% though is just for being a woman within her cycle.
I gained 1.6 lbs. this week. I had a very lousy week as far as tracking, walking, gym or anything other than mood.
I had wicked cramps for two of the days and barely fluttered an eyelash let alone moved around. I did some stretching to see if that would help, and I’m sure it did. I had a few baths to help which did for a change. They usually don’t.
I got caught in my own trap of too tired to walk, can’t sleep, no energy to get up early.

So let’s see what successes I can take away from the past week of choices which included the 2 pieces of key lime pie, two glasses of wine, a cupcake and three restaurant meals, dip with my veggies, several full handfuls of licorice allsorts that seemed to find their way in to my fists and practically no exercise other than a squidge of walking here and there (definately no everywhere).

One success for sure is knowing with absolute surety that without tracking or planning I will remain in this vicious cycle that I want desperately to get out of. No tracking, No planning, no exercise, no happy healthy Hayley.

I left my battery charger on my desk at work when I left, so I had no Fitbit over the weekend, and it was really weird. I won’t do that again. At some point I’ll look for an extra charger to keep at work. But for now I’ll keep it at home.

I spent some time this weekend on Pinterest looking for some new recipe ideas – breakfast, as it seems to be my worst offender.
I also brought some groceries with me to work to make sure that no matter what I have healthy choices here at work. I brought plain yogurt, kasha lean crunch, whole grain bread, some eggs (and I brought my microwave poacher), blueberries and a few frozen entrees so that if I forget my lunch then I still have something that will fit my program. I’m not enjoying eating out or trying to think of something when I’m hungry. It’s frustrating and then I get upset because I haven’t planned anything.

I really need to kick up my exercise this week. Tonight I’ll be going for a walk to make sure that I reach my 10K steps. I joined a group on in the Fitbit Community groups where you have to reach 300,000 steps per month or you get kicked out. It averages 10K per day, so I thought that might help me a bit better with consistency.

So goals this week:
- Maintain my 10K step goal (Lisa - we need a new group challenge)
- Strength train 2x (Wednesday/Friday)
- Yoga Stretch 1x (Saturday)
- Meal Plan for the Week (All Meals)
- Track daily – Enter daily meal plan in to MFP/WW the night before and then on Sunday enter the following week while prepping meal plan for the coming week.
- Drink 1 glass of water when I get up in the morning, 5 glasses of water during work day and 2-3 during the evening
- Max 1hr TV per evening M-T
- In bed by 10pm for min sleep of 7 hours

Seems like some steep goals.  But these are things that I want to do.  It's important to me, that for me, I recognize that in order for me to find personal success I need more structure.  So I'm giving myself more structure.

I'll be checking in more here to see how everyone is and to help motivate where I can.  You all make a great difference to me, so thanks buddies!!

Let's see what everyone else has going on for goals right now.  What is one thing you will do differently this week from last week?

Cheers,

Hayley
