Hi! I'm looking for some friends for motivation and support. I'm 51, female, and working on losing 30 lbs. My A1c is pre-diabetic so I'm shedding some weight to try and get it under control.
Anyone?

Hi Nana - you can do it!!! You have already lost 30 - wow! One thing I did that really changed my mindset was to focus on what I have done right in the week. Even, if I miss a workout - I still pat myself on the back and really celebrate the ones I did do. I have been trying to lose weight for about seven years now with little or very temporary success. This is the first time I have ever thought positively about my efforts rather than feeling guilty everytime I did something that deviated from the plan. It makes a HUGE difference!
PS: If you ever want a workout buddy or someone to have a coffee with - let me know. I would love to meet you.

Hi, I am 24. But I suffered back pain due to sitting in office too long.
Try to walk 10k steps per day.
Looking for friends to make it more fun!

@DDFly You wrote this comment back in April so not sure you're still monitoring this forum. Did you end up doing the 21 day program? My sister-in-law did it and lost 10lbs.
I know I have very little motivation in the evening to work out except for a walk around the block with the dog, however, I workout in the morning. Have you tried to fit that into your schedule? I know you work so it would require adjusting your schedule which can be hard at first. I still have kids in school and I live in PA but when the weather cooperates, I would meet my friend and running partner who lives in my neighborhood at 5:30 a.m. for a 4-mile run. I was back to still help the kids get off to school. Maybe you could find a workout partner you could meet early in the morning to walk or run with? Since you live in Florida, it's probably the best time to get an outside workout in. I wouldn't be able to do it without my friend! She is my motivation to drag myself out of bed on those days. My husband on the other hand has no problem getting up early and running by himself.

Hi....I have recently been diagnosed with diabetes a month ago. As well I have high cholestrol and liver enzymes. So in a nut shell I need a life style change. I find with all the dietary restrictions I'm getting pretty tired of salad and chicken already....lol. I've been very good over the last month. I've already lost 10lbs and my sugars are much better. My problem is my dietary choices...not many out there. Any advice?

I would like to try more of a Paleo diet and it sounds like that is the kind of diet that would be good for you too. See if you can put this in your web address area: https://www.google.com/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&rlz=1C1RXDB_enUS579US580&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8#...
Or just Paleo Diet. What I have heard is that you just shop the outside of the store. Stay away from anything with preservatives. So what you want is the fresh items. Fruits, veges, dried fruits, seeds, spices, meats and dairy are all fine. Read a little about it and maybe some of it will appeal to you.

@RNGrad03 Do you like seafood? I make a great salad with large shrimp (pre-cooked, no hassle!), a can of organic black beans and sweet corn. I add garlic, maybe some scallions. If you have a greek dressing you like, or homemade with olive oil and red, apple or balsamic vinegar and let it sit for about 20 mins. I serve this over field green mix or a tender Boston type lettuce and hopefully I have a perfect avocado to slice over it also. Heaven! (NO BREAD!)
Salmon and haddock meals are also great - you can bake, broil or grill and serve with any kind and basically any amount of fresh vegetables - a large dash of lemon and you're all set and eating very well.
