Hi! I'm looking for some friends for motivation and support. I'm 51, female, and working on losing 30 lbs. My A1c is pre-diabetic so I'm shedding some weight to try and get it under control.
Anyone?

I suggest writing down all the food and drinks you have for a week. You will probably be surprised. Every little snack adds up. I Know I eat too much of the wrong things but am having a hard time getting motivated and a hard time giving up my Dr Peppers each night when I get home from work....

Can someone tell me how to join a group? I mean, do I just check this group occasionally or is there a seperate page? I've tried to figure this out, but it just doesn't seem clear to me. Thanks for any help.

My goodness you sound like me!!! I am 61 my medlist is 22 meds long which includes injections and infusions and a mountain of pills. These are making it difficult for the pounds to come down..... today my weight was up 4 pounds from yesterday. I have a fluid problem and each day has to tracked for my doctors.
Well to get off my bandstand... I want to very much loose 50 punds and I have promised myself I will.

DianaLynne..not sure what all information you got in my reply. I sent it via email and not sure what part of it you have. I would suggest weighing at the same time once a week at most. Weighing in the morning is best because your body weigh can change throughout the day. Stay away from caffeine, they will make your retain water. Drink plenty of plain fresh water or water with lemon. Lemon will also help cleanse your kidneys. I think once you start losing weight, you will hopefully get off some of those medicines. I'm lucky...I'm 51 and I am healthy. I exercise at least 6 days a week with weights and cardio, alternating days and I do a green shake each morning. Since I've been doing this, I feel 100% better than I have for awhile. A lot more energy and a lot more relaxed.

Diliz, as far as I know you just get on here and check. I do get emails sometimes when people put new questions on here though.

I would also like to connect with others who need support and encouragement. I am a 53 year old woman and I am trying to lose 30 pounds. I run all of the time but really love my sweets. My body is trying to tell me that I shouldn't run anymore but I have been ignoring it thus far. I'm trying to find another way to work out that isn't quite so hard on me and cause back problems. The trouble is, is that I love running and other exercises don't seem to fullfill my psychological feeling of having worked out. I am currently trying weight training at a gym with only a little cardio included. I haven't really been able to tell if it is effective yet. I guess I will give it a month to see if it works. Any suggestions?

Hi RG53....I'm in the exact - EXACT - boat as you! I haven't been able to run (running is the only exercise I did not detest) and am looking for a new activity because without movement, I surely will not be able to lose the 30 pounds that seems to love me more than I, it.
I have no suggestions (right now) but am looking into other options - I'll let you know if I come up with anything. You do the same for me, OK?

RG53 - Have you tried riding a recumbent bike? Try a stationary one to see if it physically works for you. Recumbent bikes put less stress on the back. They probably have a couple at your gym in addition to the regular stationary bikes.

bikerjules - Good job. One day at a time. I used to drink 4+ cans of diet Coke a day. I'm down to one and some days not even one. (at least I was drinking the caffeine free version).

Hi Everyone, I'm new to this community. Joined in August and I really enjoy my Fitbit. I'm 56 and trying to lose some perimenopausal pounds. Running, Pilates, weight training, etc. I'm feeling better, but still struggling. I want to feel like myself again, so let me know if any of you have conquered this challenge. Cheers!
