Hi! I'm looking for some friends for motivation and support. I'm 51, female, and working on losing 30 lbs. My A1c is pre-diabetic so I'm shedding some weight to try and get it under control.
Anyone?

Welcome lyro (& gilligan)....my 29yr old son's middle name is "G" (for gilligan - Xhusbands favorite TV show!).....that's whole other topic for the shrink to analyze!!!
I'm kind of a newbie too. Even tho I've had my Flex for 10 months, I haven't really participated in any of the forums. I was just competing with my sister & my niece, on our own. Well, they turned out to be even less motivated than me, and now I'm in serious trouble and need to buckle down! I'm trying to commit to walking my 10,000 steps every day. I managed to walk the 10,000 steps on 4 days this past week. This week (Mon-Sun) I will strive for 5 days...

Hi Cindy,
That's funny re: 'G'! I have wonderful friends that are not motivated to move at all, nevermind the Fitbit! I'm flying solo here so all the motivation I can get here will be greatly appreciated!

Today I got a swift kick in the pants. My older brother who was diagnosed with hypertension and diabetes has started walking every day. He walks for a total of 30 minutes but breaks the time up throughout the day. He has placed himself on a low carb diet. He wanted to know how to eat healthy. I explained to him that he can only eat meat done with the 4 Bs... baked, barbequed (grilled), boiled, and broiled. My brother is mentally challenged so giving him the Bs worked. Took him to the doctor today and he has lost a total of 25 lbs. His sugars are under control and was given the "no longer have diabetes" talk and taken off his diabetic medication. His cholesterol level was too low so they cut his prescription in half. My brother looks at me and says, "you have to do your Bs and exercise and you will have no medicines."

55, have had my fitbit for 4 days. I am looking to get rid of 55 pounds gained after an illness. I recently started Almased (a weight loss powder that is said to be quite efffective for diabetics. I am getting great results and have a lot of energy. Have you heard of it?

Hi, everyone...I'll be 58 soon, have had my Fitbit for 2 years and love it, and want to kick my efforts up a notch to lose more of this weight before I turn 60.
I've lost 15 of 100 so far.
Would love more people to have friendly "competition" with.
Good luck to all!

I too would love some competition. I fell off the wagon for the past week and am looking to get things back in check. Ideas?
