trying to lose over 100 lbs.. looking for support

Hey I am new to fit bit and I have about 128 lbs to lose before I am considered in a healthy weight range.. I used to be in a healthy weight range back in 2009.. it's been a long time but I got diagnosed with schizophrenia and BPD and the medication for that made me gain A LOT of weight then I also started binge eating to cope.. looking for ways to break the habit and to get off the couch and take more steps.. I just recentently moved ten min from the gym with no car.. so now I can walk to the gym, workout and walk home.. I just need the motivation to keep it going. Thanks for your support!!

Bikram (hot) yoga six days a week and removing sugar from my diet - I had a terrible addiction to sugar and while it's still there I am doing well to control it. I have finally accepted that it's there and I am never going to be that person who can have ice cream in my house or unlimited access to candy. Ice cream was H U G E! I had gelato this past Friday and while it was delicious and I could have eaten more (and more and more and more.....) I didn't. I actually asked for the smallest size they had which turned out to be a little plastic 2 oz cup and I didn't mind paying full price for it. I'm the eater that if I had gotten a gallon I would have eaten a gallon.

I have to ACCEPT these things about myself and I mean REALLY ACCEPT them not just say this is who I am but own it. I have found that there are a ton of lies that I have told myself over the year and I have to let go of those and accept that I have eating issues but I am working through them.

Did you ever see, "Silver Linings"? There's such a great, great line in the movie about acceptance. She knows who she is the good the bad the indifferent but she still likes those parts of herself. That's my mantra.

I've lost 123 pounds. It took me almost 4 years. The reality is weight loss requires a lot of work and time.

I lost all this weight without the help of a gym. I've walked over 8,000 miles, participated in several 5k's last year and just climbed Mt Kineo on the expert trail for my first ever mountain climb. I am starting wall rock climbing soon. It is a life style change.

I find that eating some foods are not worth the work. It is fun to have x amount of ice cream however I would have to walk 4-5 miles to burn it off.

You will have ups and downs. However, the key is to keep moving. Find what you like and stick to it. You will have to exercise the rest of your life.

I've never seen that movie, but I will have to find it and rent it =).. sounds like you are doing great!! awesome job keep it up!! I am trying to keep motivated and stick with it..I can't have "bad" food in my house either or else i eat the whole box like it's nothing.. ice cream is a no no too. I'm seeing a diabetic diatician at the end of this month so I'm sure there will be tons more stuff to learn.

I have 75lbs to lose, I'm 4 lbs down from my highest weight ever right now, I've been working on cutting out Pop (Soda) I'm using Crystal Light to flavour my water, it's not perfect, but it's better than a bottle of pop too. I know the pop, and not enough activity are 2 of the major factors in my weight gain over the last 9 years, that and 3 kids. (I was a skinny little thing until  I hit highschool, and started having my own money to spend on junk) I got married and pregnant a year after finishing highschool, and here I am.

Gah my mouse just ate my reply.

Was really pleased to see I've already passed my goal of 5,000 steps.  Quite nice to have that feedback!  I'm now thinking of walking to the pharmacy with kiddo in the pushchair, instead of going by car.  Will see how things go when she wakes.

I have 134 to lose. Similarly, meds affected my weight. After back surgeries the inability to move and increased pain plus pain killers (medication taken with food six times a day) made it easy to gain and now hard to lose.

I started with 140 to lose. So I am six lbs down since starting fitbit.

Slow and steady. 😄

Don't try to do everything at once and stay focused on what you are going to work on.  I started by eating the right foods in the right amounts.  I'm 54 and started at 245 so I concentrated on my diet.  1300-1400 calories a day and they only came from lean meats, whole grains, fruits and veggies.  I'd kid that I was eating the calories of a girl!  That got me losing weight over 4-5 months and then I incorported exercise (walking) and I HATE walking!!  I have lost 57 lbs in 6 1/2 months while still at 1300-1400 calories and my goal in to get to 180 (65 lbs) and then decide what my next plan of attack is....

I lost 80 pounds and was 20 pounds from my goal and gained it all back, so I totally understand your frustration. I'm going for 120 lb weight loss. Currently i'm at 240. I'm determined to keep it off so I can start running again!
