Also got one for Christmas and just got it set up today w/22 yr old's help. Not exactly intuitive. I mainly want it for step count. How/where do I log in my stride? Help. Thanks.

Best Answer

You log in your stride from your dashboard.  Click on the little gear symbol (settings).  It should lead you right to it.  If not, click on your Profile page and you can enter your stride length there, along with all of your other information.

Cool! I think it captured my evening walk with our dog. It is NOT intuitive
- nice to have someone to ask!

A friend came round for coffee and showed me her Fitbit. I love graphs and suspected this is something that will motivate me against myself, but also against any friends I can find that have one. I have been using it for just two days, but already encouraging me to walk more and to try new activities. Fingers crossed as I need to lose 3 stone. Still haven't good instructions about the Fitbit. Is it simply a matter of reading the forums?

I had no idea you could log in your own stride length. Makes sense.

Hi everyone, Im new here today, just saying hi while i get to grips with my new fitbit flex.

@Lighter

Welcome to FitBit! So happy to hear it is already motivating you! It seems to be an addictive little device. A little advice on making friends, if I may. Keep reading the posts. Figure out who seems to share the same goals you do. Then touch or click on their name. You should see a Friend Request button. Send the friend request. Hopefully, they will respond back.

If you do not see the Friend Request button, try to open their profile. The button may be there. Some people prefer to stay private and may not show the button at all. But many of us do.

As for still figuring out instructions, feel free to post the questions in the right category at this page:

Good luck as you begin your journey to better health! You can do it!

I'm new here too. My employer gave employees the chance to receive a free fit bit. Started working out today and wearing the fit bit today. Looking to lose fat and eventually start building muscle. Neat to see how may steps I've taken today.

My employer gave me mine too, I had to pay 50% upfront but I get it back on my paycheck if I keep up with the plan!

I'm curious why people keep their activities private? It seems to me if you are a member of a community and you are looking for encouragement it is difficult to encourage someone if you have no idea what they are doing except the number of steps they are taking which is pretty subjective depending on the exercises you are conducting...

I'm pretty new to this so maybe I am missing something.. Anyone that wants to view my stats are more than welcome and if they want to critique my training I would be even more happy as there is a wealth of knowledge out there that I would love to tap into..

Just a thought..

Add me if your lookin' for friends...

I'm not sure, but I think FitBit's default on this is set to private, and probably most people just go with the default settings on everything. I'll recheck mine, I'd love to share my activities!

Hi, I got my Zip about a week ago, and I'm loving it.  It's working great as a motivator.

I'm 30, from Maine, and was looking for a pedomiter to track my jogging come spring, so far it's working great!
