Just got my fitbit today and am anxious to share in discussions with other users. So far, it seems like a very cool little device.

Woman LOL  Just bought and set-up today.  Expensive to start but I'm hoping that it will cut costs elsewhere by allowing me to get healthy and loose weight without going to WW meetings.  I'm celebrating my 50th birthday this year and I'd like to loose 50 in honour of this milestone.  Heading to Mexico with 9 women many of whom I have know since highschool when we were 15 yrs old.  Hoping to loose about 10 before I go.  That would be awesome!  Leaving Feb 1/14.....3lbs a week?  Doable?

Welcome, Rubygirl!  I am new also.  Bought myself a Fitbit One after Christmas.  It is time to get serious about getting healthy again.  I will be 70 in 76 weeks and have decided that I can lose 50-60 lbs. by then.  It will be slow but hopefully steady progress.  Three years ago I lost almost 40 lbs. but unfortunately. I have gained it all back and more. I got overconfident and stopped logging and exercising.  Lesson learned. So hopefully, we can both use our fitbits and make some definite progress.  Are you game?  I will try to check in each week to let you know my progress or problems and you can do the same.  Good Luck!!!! It is amazing how quickly people get used to a fitbit and how quickly numbers add up.  Just passed my 2 million step mark yesterday, but carol, I checked your lifetime numbers and you're at 5.5 million!  Time for me to go for a walk! Robot Happy

Hello, @virwags! Your story could be mine. I've gained and lost many, many times over my 60+ years. But this time is different. Thanks to the FitBit, I actually ENJOY exercise and walking for the first time in my life. The more I walk and accumulate steps, the more I feel compelled to get to my 10,000 daily steps! It's wonderful. I've lost 56 lbs slowly but surely since last February.

We can do this!!

New user as of yesterday. I am trying to syn to both my laptop and my iPhone 4s. It looks like it isn't syncing, but when I come back to the computer or phone an hour or so later, the syncing took place! I downloaded fitbit app to the iPhone and I don't activate bluetooth even when it suggests on the phone that I do so. I tried syncing the sleep app this morning and it didn't appear to sync. However, when I checked again 4 hours later, the syncing had taken place. Go figure! Guess I have a lot to learn.
