Hi

I new to fitbit, one day 🙂 I get most of the settings and what they do read some of the forums and now bit confused.

1. Why is it saying I have burned X amount of calories when I dont believe I could have burnt that much bit confused.

2,With the sleep and I know this sounds stupid so forgive me, I take it you wear it sleep and you can sync it and look at your sleep pattern ?

3. Does it reset itself at midnight every day if so Why ?

4. I take it once its sync and you set everything up then it keeps that information for a while it doesnt delete it,

Sorry if I sound a plank 🙂

@Juneypoos welcome to world of Fitbit.
Lets look at your questions

1. Why is it saying I have burned X amount of calories when I dont believe I could have burnt that much bit confused.
A: Your body is allways burning calories, when you sleep or just sitting in a chair your breathing, pumping blood pumping, your brain is still in control working to keep you alive. The calories burnt are called your BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate )

2,With the sleep and I know this sounds stupid so forgive me, I take it you wear it sleep and you can sync it and look at your sleep pattern ?
A: Yes if you wet ould like to see how restless you slept last night then the graph will show you.
Dark blue is where you were asleep, not moving, red is a wake and yellow means slight movement of your body.
Leave your sleep serting on normal.

3. Does it reset itself at midnight every day if so Why ?
A: Yes the daily total resets at midnight, so that it can dosplay to you todays info, Steps, Calories, etc.
Dont worry everything from yesterday is still there.in memory, the reset is for a fresh start today. Many people want to have theire step data for each day, and if they met th eir goals for the day.

4. I take it once its sync and you set everything up then it keeps that information for a while it doesnt delete it,
A: Once everything is set up, everytime you sync, the data your tracker has collected is sent to Fitbit online. Here you can see everything in detail by day, Week, Month, are Year.
It save all the daily data, since the day yhe account was made. For me that would be 1.5 years.
For me this is
7-Day Average 13,872steps per day and good gor me.
Lifetime Steps: 26,681,663 steps

Received my fitbit yesterday.  It just so happened that a few days after I ordered it, I fell and injured my foot and cannot walk at all - the cruel irony of life.  So far I am monitoring my resting heart rate and sleep.  Looking forward to actually using it once I have use of both my feet again.

Hi Everyone, I just got my Charge HR today. Think I have it set up right and it is synced with my IPhone. I now have to figure out all the little icons and what they will be telling me.

I would like to know if it also syncs with my computer automatically.

Like Juneypoos I am somewhat confused after reading some of the forums.

Would also like to compare notes with some of you new to Fitbit too.

Thanks for any comments and/or help you can suggest.

You can set your computer up to sync your Fitbit, you will need to go to Https://www.fitbit.com/setup and download and install the connect software. Now install the Bluetooth dongle.
Your computer will then sync amy Fitbit it can talk ro, not just yours. This is not a problem becauae when you sync your tracker sends its data straight to fitbit.

LouP40 - It appears Rich answered your question quite well. I'm the opposite of most, relying mostly on my PC, with the dongle, etc., as Rich pointed out. I'vge called tech support at times when it did not sync well. At least once they had me use my tablet with its app to realign things, which amazingly did work. They comment at times (over the phone) they can see sync is working before I do! So yes, your device(s) read from their website, not the opposite. Once set up, you should be able to sync, then view, with any device you've set up. You might keep in mind that the Dashboard is set up with a default arrangement that can be altered to favor the metrics you prefer to view . . .
