Hi community
1. I am in Sydney, Australia (kilojoules)
2. Currently on target to get to my perfect BMI of 20 @75kg, I am 185cm or 6'1"
3. I stay fit by walking, doing some weights at home, I have a Weider 1120 machine and also have a very disciplined food intake (it's not a diet, it's just what i eat with special emphasis on correcting my BMI.
4. I am motivated by fitting into great clothes i.e. 32-34 inch waist, and also like looking at good bodies in the street.
5. Favorite guilty pleasure is watching morbidly obese podcasts on Youtube and thank my lucky stars that I never went down that road. It's a bit like looking at car crashes as you drive past, you are thankful it's not you but you want to look all the same.
I've kind of worked out that what most people lack is discipline so they justify their eating habits by saying to themselves "It's just one chip" but they've already had packets of them before and it all adds up.
Fitbit has developed some really great tools that make it much easier to monitor what is going on in your life. I only found out about Fitbit when I bought some biometric scales (Renpho brand that sync with the Fitbit app.) But now I am buying a Fitbit Ionic which is not the cheapest option but I like the Fitbit Pay function.
I would recommend everyone use these:
1. Biometric scales (Fitbit, Renpho or whichever syncs with the Fitbit App)
2. Fitbit App
3. Fitbit device that suits your requirements and budget. I think it's a great idea to have one that monitors your heartrate. I know that there are more expensive ones on the market that do more but hey this is our health and is not just for today but for the rest or lives.
So all of the above including the community discussion forums (i.e. here) are great tools to keep motivated. Actually seeing your progress is the most motivational thing of all. It has nothing to do with anyone else, it's just you and the statistics. It's what we do.

Walking to work, and I'm a housekeeper at a hotel, lots of walking there.

Hello Everyone, 🙂
I live in Niagara Falls, Canada. My fitness goal is to loose weight (which I'm way to hard on myself, so I'm told) and to get fit. When I was in my late 40's, I was in the best shape, working out 5 to 6 times a day. As the years went by, working 2 jobs, raising a son and dealing with a serious health issue, put a halt to all that. Now that I'm 60, I'm trying to regain control and become fit, but it's very hard, still working the 2 jobs. I like to walk mostly and get on my cross trainer. My motivation is my determination, and personally, I couldn't do it without my Fitbit! I need to become more active in challenges.
As for my favorite guilty pleasure, I would have to say a nice dry red wine. 😊 Oh, and lets not forget the dark chocolate to go with that. My reason for being here, is to become more open, connect and get fit.
Thank you.
