@WendyB Thank you for the welcome. Yes he is cute, with a hint of devil. Within 2 and 1/2 days of getting him a fitbit he had earned his Marathon Badge (I think I have my work cut out) 🙂

Hola! My name is Cheryl and I’ve been retired and living in Costa Rica for 15 years. My favourite guilty pleasure is drinking 2 cups of coffee each morning which I grow here on my finca. I fast until 9:30 each morning and the coffee is a bit hard on my stomach but I can’t resist it. What motivates me is that I’m 72 and live in a “Blue Zone” and although I don’t care about living until I’m 100, I do want to stay as healthy as possible while I’m here. I’ve always lived a healthy lifestyle, having been married to a cardiovascular and thoracic surgeon but back in the early days they didn’t know much about diet. We always exercised and raised 2 children to exercise but I wish I had known then what I know now about nutrition. I’ve been vegetarian for many years but I’ve only recently given up dairy, eggs and fish. I follow a whole food plant based diet and have a blood pressure of 110/70 without any medication since doing so. I keep fit by daily walks with the dogs and HIIT on the up hills, yoga stretches, and laps in my lap pool. Until last year, I kept 4 horses and rode regularly but I’m down to only 1 and still have to clean and file hooves. I have a big organic garden and work on the finca. I grow citrus and have papaya, noni, and bananas as well. My current fitness goal is to be better at fasting and drinking more water which I fail to do daily. I love my Fitbit and occasionally forget to take it off when I drive to town in my old Land Rover. The Fitbit intuits that I’m riding a bike and the whistles and bells go off saying I’m an over achiever. The truth is I gave up my mountain bike years ago knowing I’d kill myself on these mountain roads. I’d love to hear from other older people who remain in good shape.

Hi Fitbit family! 🙂
I've had Fitbit for a while now but I'm considering using it more now because I'll be stuck at home for a while, containing myself due to COVID-19. I think that during this time, it'll be a nice opportunity for me to keep track of my fitness routines and goals. I live in Los Angeles (Westwood), California, USA. My current health goal is to eat less calories and feel satisfied doing so. My fitness goal is to workout at least 4-5 times per week, doing a combination of cardio and weight training. I'm an avid dancer! So I stay fit by doing what I love! I've been swing dancing (lindy hop mostly, balboa, shag and Charleston) for over ten years. I also enjoy salsa, ballroom and tap dancing every now and then. My favorite gym classes are cycling, Pilates, yoga and Zumba. For sports, I enjoy swimming, playing tennis, golf, and doing water sports like sailing, stand-up paddle boarding, Windsurfing and surfing. I love going for long walks as well. I'm a competitive person so I'm usually motivated by challenges (from other people and from myself). Sometimes the idea of possibly failing in some realm of life can be motivating too. Lately, my favorite guilty pleasure is Noosa yogurt. I need to stay away from it! It's too delicious! haha. Looking forward to getting fit and healthy with you all very soon~
Best,
Jennifer

Hi everyone!
To get directly to the questions....
Those are the questions. Now for some more background.
I'm 44 years young, married, 2 kids, both boys. Age 16 and 12 the moment i wrote this
As the years go by, my belly started to grow. Probably because of the beer intake. I used to drink about 24 bottles a week. And that's a lot. I think. So i dropped that and brought it back to around 5 every weekend.
I also started to look more at my food intake. I'm trying to match my calorie intake with what i use during the day.
Right now I'm just using the Fitbit app but I'm saving some money for a Versa 2.
My steps won't be as accurate and they only track my daily walk and not everything else.
I own a rowing machine, so that is something i'm starting to use again too. And have some weights which i can use.
A couple of years ago i was working out and playing tennis and that gave me a good feeling until i got injured. I stopped with everything.
Diagnose: shin splint in both legs. It hurt like hell every time i started running. And i still can't run.
It's like learning to run all over again. I can walk so that's what I'll do for know.
The injury happened during playing tennis. It was there already for an amount of time but didn't pay much attention to it. Because every time i was done playing it went by and everything was back to normal. Until that last game. I was playing and my wife saw that something was wrong but i didn't tell her and we played the game. It was a good game. When the last point was scored i dropped down on the floor. I just couldn't walk anymore. Got some help from other people and both legs were packed with ice. And that was the moment i knew i **ahem**ed up. And i got scared to work out.
So the months go by, had to stick tape at my shins to keep the pressure away and went to the physiotherapist.
But it is getting better and i want to get back in shape. And that is something more about me 🙂
It's a long story 😁
If you want to be friends on fitbit or myfitnesspal (henkfeenstra2019) feel free to add me!

Hello,
I live in Northern Ontario but that's all I am going to say. This is why and I hope this is the right place to post this. If not perhaps an admin can move it.
I had a friend request this morning to my e-mail and on my app. I do not know who this is , but the message seemed fine, wanting someone to share fitness ideas with and track successes. Being cautious I was able to find the persons user name and found out it was a troll looking to have online sex. So please do not accept a friend request without checking it out first.
