Hello, I live in Texas and a new fit bit Inspire user. I am 46 and getting into walking, max trainer and weight lifting. Did running and weight training in my 20's and still have muscle memory and am excited to get my body back in shape. I have been with my husband for 30 years and he will be on this too soon.

Hello, I am in Massachusetts and sitting out the storm.  At age 80 I am enjoying my FITBIT INSPIRE HR, but am wondering WHY does it fail to record some of nights of sleep.  Some nights it registers only part of the night.  Other nights it does not register at all!!    I really like the STEP TRACKING and when I remember I do use the FOOD LOG and monitor my diet info.  It did help me lose 37 lbs in 10 months prior to my knee replacement and now to maintain that healthy weight.    Sandy T, an animal lover and dog walker.

Sometimes mine does not record either. I did some research and found that if you don’t sleep well and move around a lot the watch will not enter into sleep mode and therefore won’t record. I’m not sure that is in every case but it has happened.

I recently purchased a Fitbit Charge 4 to replace my very, very old original Fitbit Flex.

Anyway I like the Charge4,  except for the following: the watch face I’m using, “pendulum,” is white lettering on black background. When I’m swimming or walking in bright sunlight, even if I turn my wrist, or pinch the buttons on the side, or tap the surface, and the watch face lights up, * I cannot read it. *. I’ve tried other options with the digital figures too. I still have the same problem. In bright light, the watch face is not legible.

I would much prefer a watch face that was white background with black lettering.

Is that available anywhere? I would even be willing to pay extra money to have that option.

My second question:  the watch goes off too quickly.  I often have to hit it twice in order to be able to read what it says.

Is there anyway to keep the watch face lit up longer? It’s sort of drives me crazy to have to repeatedly touch the thing and interrupt everything else I’m doing in order to just glance at the time.
UPDATE:  I just spent almost an hour on chat with someone who was trying to be helpful – – he did instruct me in how to use the app in Settings  on the device itself to increase the amount of time the watch face is visible – – from eight seconds to 11 seconds. 11 seconds is “long“. (?!)
I’m still going to have to get used to turning to see what time it is and seeing only a blank face.

The Charge 4 a good item, but it could be improved.

Advice?
Thanks,

Skiwalker here,  Yes, I understand you issue with the watch face.  I have an INSPIRE HR and have the same issue when out in the sun.  I am also having an issue with the SLEEP SCORE not always giving me a SCORE, even though I turn on the BEGIN SLEEP  mode.

Trying to watch it for 3 or 4 days and see if it will adjust to the DASHBOARD updates.

GOOD LUCK!
