Hello all!
I’m here to try and grow my group. 😁 There are currently 17 members but only 2 are actively participating! 🙁
My story: I belonged to a gym for almost 20 years but had to drop my membership at the end of February. Since my husband and I had acquired several pieces of fitness equipment and a few DVDs, I decided to turn part our basement into a home gym.
But I realized the thing I would miss is the accountability, sense of community and the drive to push just a little more when I want to quit.
So, I started a group in the Fitbit app to try and create a virtual gym community of people who, like me, are trying to maintain a fitness routine outside of a gym facility. Unfortunately, it seems groups created by the individual are not open. Every member has be a friend then I can send an invitation.:incoming_envelope:
Let me know if you’d like to share accountability, inspiration, motivation.
Thank you
LisaDIN

I enjoy running/biking, but my favorite exercise is using weights/bodyweight in exercise.
Nice! I used to run too, but I haven't as much recently, I've been biking more. I enjoy Bodyweight exercises because you can do them anywhere.
Best AnswerWonderful! We’d love to have you around! I just sent a friend request. Once you accept, I can invite you to the group.
Best AnswerI'm just getting into the whole gym stuff. I was pretty disappointed with myself when I saw that the quarantine took so long and I didn't try to work out during this time. So when the second wave hit I was more determined to do something that would make me happy when looking in the mirror. I personally never went to a gym cause I didn't know what to do there, I was afraid of getting judged, etc, all of these unreasonable fears. I evolved a lot during those few months and I understood a lot about myself. I'm doing all of this for my own personal happiness, not for society's standards. It was a long road to discover what were the exercises that I liked to do, what I wanted to get out of them, and so on. I found a lot of helpful advice online, like at home pull-ups that turned out to be my favorite, even though I never thought they would.
Just reading the OP's comment made me feel more inspired in the journey that I'm on. I've never been an active person because I have a fast metabolism and that meant I was always the skinny person. in society's mind, you need to go to the gym if you are fat, period. That's not true at all. you need to work out to be healthy, regardless of how healthy looks like. I had quite a lot of time on my hands, as one did during quarantine and I decided to actually do something productive and work on myself. I had almost no idea what I was doing, but there are a lot of tools online designed to help you, this one https://homegymreview.co.uk/exercise-database/ being my favorite of all time. I'm definitely searching for whatever inspiration I can get, so sign me up.
