Hello. I purchased my FitBit Charge HR yesterday and am still navigating through it all. I am diabetic, taking medication but not insulin. I also have PSTV, a heart thing, which is why I was wanting to monitor my heart rate. Went on vacation last week, family reunion, where there was a lot of hikes, lot of walking, and the house we stayed in had stairs that I had to walk on A LOT as we were staying on the second floor. At first of week I looked at it as a kind of fitness challenge, by end of week I was sending my grandson up/down stairs for me and just tossing things down from the open loft area. I was hit with just how badly I am out of shape. Then to add insult to injury so to speak, have been looking at the photos taken that I am in. I have heard of people that are thin looking in a mirror and seeing theirself as heavy...but I look in the mirror and see that I look okay but the photos tell a different story. I have a gym membership, even have some trainer sessions getting old, but just have not had the gumption to use them. That has all changed, I am making the changes I need to be healthier. My oldest daughter has the same FitBit that I just purchased, several of the family members that attended also had them. Their challenges sounded fun and inspiring, so I am plunging in to the FitBit world for motivation and support. Setting up as many of the features as possible as I want to make the most of the tools offered. I just joined a challenge through the site and decided to introduce myself.
We also participate in cowboy action shooting and it is getting harder and harder to move around. I want to start working on strengthening my legs and knees so I can get around better. I am not young, but at 54 I am not ancient either. My goals are low for now because I am trying to keep realistic expectations in mind. I will be changing the goals as I go along. Currently, my goal is 2000 steps, which I reached today. Yeah Me! Longterm goal is to loose 90 pounds. I know that this will take a long time if done in healthy positive way. That is why I have many short term goals to get there, make it more realistic. I also need to loose ten inches in my waist. If possible. So, I am comitted to gym time at least 3 days a week, for now, and my daughter in law is taking me with her so I am actually getting there.
I live in central California and am a wife, a mother of four children, memaw to four wonderful grand children. The oldest two live in Texas so don't get to see them as much, but am daycare for the youngest two grandbabies. As I said, I participate in cowboy action shooting. We dress up like Gunsmoke and have shooting compitions with replica period fire arms. I LOVE IT. We also enjoy camping in the mountains and the beach. I love to sew. Everything from garments to quilts, embroidery, crochet, when ever I can, since I lost my sewing room to an adult son moving back in. I love baking but can't eat it much so have found people to take it off to. I also write unpublished romance novels, mostly historical westerns with a little bit of shape shifter thrown in. Well, this sure got long, I apologize for that.
If you want a fitbit buddy to motivate, support you, challenge you, then I am here. Please remember that I am having to take baby steps because I am so terribly out of shape. I am really embarassed that I have let myself get like this, but only I can do anything about it. My sweet hubby is supportive, just wants me to be healthier, but weight loss and strengthening come much easier for him and it annoys me. Thanks for reading this. Looking forward to making friends

Hey Guys! I'm Daniel and I got my Charge HR a few months ago. Fitbit has made me much more active than before. It's just that most of my Fitbit friends cannot carry on. They get lazy and simply stop using it after a while 😞 Definitely hope to add some more people from here to compete with haha!
Anyways, feel free to hit me up. (I'm in Hong Kong btw:)

Hello all!
So I've been floating about the board for a little over a week but have had my Charge HR for a few days now so it's time to make it happen!
I have a serious autoimmune disorder so am very dedicated to kicking goals and taking names and am looking for like minded folk.
Oh and I'm an Aussie!
