Did you mean:

You know you're a Fitbit addict when...

  • You pace the house to get to a particular figure before going to bed
  • You sit down when recharging as you don't want to 'waste' any steps
  • You park further away from the shops to gain extra steps

....when you're in a wedding, and your first concern is where to put the tracker so you don't lose your step count!

Oh my gosh!! Yes!!! I have worn my FB for almost 2 years and I'm missing data from one day and that was a day I was bridesmaid and I didn't wear it. I'll never forget the day I betrayed my FB, lol

When you are seriously considering purchasing a back up Fitbit you can use
if your regular one (God forbid) stopped working for some reason.

OMG I have a similar story I thought I lost mine playing golf i was so stressed about the steps not counted!! It was in my golf cart in the end... I thought it was weird bc it kept syncing but not adding steps. Thank god neither of us lost our device!

@girlscangolf

I did buy a back up so to speak. I got the Charge HR but am having problems. I wanted it to use when I did a work out at the gym. Not only count steps but see my heart rate as I do my entire workout.

You know your addicted when you are feeling blah. You sleep most of the day trying to feel better. But still feeling blah and going out anyway to get your goal steps in at the very least.

That was me today. Was so tired out and not feeling well. Took a long nap (hit my sleep goal) and even dinner did not help. Still went for that walk until my alarm let me know I hit my goal.

You get off the bus 5 stops before your house when you realise in a panic that you're still 2000 steps away from your goal.

I bought a mini trampoline and put it in front of the TV at the end of the day to make sure I get my steps up to where I want them.  It's either jump on the trampoline and watch TV or lay on my bed and watch TV .... it's so easy just to get up and jump and get my fix for the day.  And I too only charge my Fitbit when I'm sitting down for a bit, can't walk around and have it not count!!!

I somehow lost the little thing that goes into your computer and when you put fitbit wrist band up to it, it calculates your steps, climbs, etc.  I ordered another one and paid for it to be delivered overnight.  I was so anxious until it got here because I felt a part of me was missing.  Love my fitbit.

@lizzie49heper are yoy refferring to the Little Bluetooth plastic dongle, not the charging wire. Aș long aș you are within 30 feet of your computer it should sync, mine syncs through my neighbors pc about 50 feet away.

Sorry about the loss. Your fitbit will remember 7 days of detail and 23 more days of step totals. You can also sync through a compatable phone or any pc that is set up.

Some laptops/PCs may have integrated bluetooth in which case the dongle is surplus to requirements. If you have the phone ap and bluetooth enabled on your phone you can sync without the dongle too.

If I'm out of contact with my dashboard I feel like I'm missing somethng vital and yet I've only had my fitbit since the start of June. Would hate to be without it now.

@lizzie49heper which fitbit do you have?

Our Fitbits will not Bluetooth sync to any of our three Bluetooth capable laptops without the dongle. I remember reading why but have forgotten. I recall it has something to do with "low energy Bluetooth"

This Facebook piece explains it, somewhat.

This is my best investment. I am enjoying it.

There are a couple of reasons why your laptops Bluetooth might not work.

  • The Bluetooth has to be Low Energy Comparable
  • It would need to be linked through the USB,
  • Fitbit uses their proprietary drivers written for the supplied BT dongle.
  • Your laptops BT would need to respond to Fitbits commands and hooked up to port one of the USB.

There is just to many ifs because Fitbit does not use the BT drivers that come with Windows.

Great @lindamac, is great to see that you are enjoying your Fitbit device. Thanks for the information about the syncing requirements @Rich_Laue, this is very useful information indeed.

My name is Andrij and i am a fitbit-aholic....LOL.

Because i walk as part of my job, i get worried if i dont get that buzz at the 10,000 step mark in my first 2 hours of work. So far my boots have lasted as long as my fitbit has, 3 million plus steps and over 2500 kilometers since i got mine for christmas in 2014.

Hmm, wonder how many paces and how far have i walked since i was born.

Have a good day all and take care, oh, and keep fitbitting.

Cheers
