@Oryth101Your wife isn't drifting around, she's trying to outstep you! Sounds like a fun household to me.
The couple who FitBit together are healthy, happy and addicted!

@Odyssey13 you're right she's sneaky like that. I'm just glad she found something that is engaging and fun. Thank you!

I'm slightly annoyed that I cannot sync my fitbit at the moment. Only been in London since Thursday night, but going back home tomorrow evening 🙂 so my snycing can get back to normal! Cannot wait...

If you are trying to sync to another computer you need to instal the app driver, I had a similar problem when I went on a trip and couldn't sync to the site for a couple of days before I discovered that fact. Don't worry though, the device retains all the data and it uploads the next time you sync. I can't sync my Fitbit to the i phone I have, 4S, so I need to do it through the computer, that may not be the case where you are concerned Hats!

Reading the posts with @Hats26 and @Dimitri_L has an image in my mind.
All over the world, FitBit owner-addicts looking for a computer that will allow them to install the FitBit Connect software and sync.
Over in the corner, dark alley, back of a store, etc. is someone whispering "hey, pssst, yes, you FitBitter come here. I have a dongle and software. You can upload your steps to this laptop. Need to charge up? I can help with that. Come closer......."
OR
Seeing someone with a Flex band and a smartphone, begging to be allowed to sync your tracker to get the latest steps to your dashboard.
Oh yeah, the FitBit Addict when traveling!

Sadly I've seen nobody with a Fitbit nor do I know anyone (apart from my wonderful fitbitter friends) in UK who has one. The only friend I have in Edinburgh that is into fitness as much as me has a nike fuel band. I am very grateful for my fitbit friends on here!
SUPER DUPER STOKED. Having not synced since Thursday... I am thrilled to see I've reached and gone over the 100K! There are some advantages of not syncing every day after all 🙂

You walk up the stairs to the highest floor to use the restroom, each time. And... you don't mind if it's closed for cleaning to walk the extra steps to another one.
When your fitbit dies (battery will not recharge), you dash to the store for a replacement, so no steps are lost.
You walk instead of using the moving sidewalk at the airport.
You volunteer to do things for your family to get more steps.
You go to the store during lunch, not to shop...

Actually you are not far wrong. I got into a panic when I couldn't sync to my dashboard on a recent trip as I mentioned. I was taking part in one of the group challenges and didn't want to let down the team. I also wanted to keep realtime access to my stats, worried that if I couldn't sync the data would be lost. I hadn't realised that my son had installed the driver on my mac when he set up the Fitbit, I just assumed all I would need to take with me is the USB doogle thing! I went around a couple of computer places, in of all towns, Lefkada town in Lefkada island Greece, of course no one had ever seen or heard of this device. I eventually looked it up on a "help" page on the fitbit site if I remember correctly, and, yes it did direct me to the links to find the driver to download. Once I had installed it on my cousins laptop, bingo, back in business!
That is addiction I can tell you, the poor computer guys thought I had lost all my files, the way I was carrying on!

Hi, here some greetings from Sweden (a country as far as you can go in northern Europe)
Just bought my Fitbit one and hoping to be an addict very soon 😃
I´ve experienced it before in pace competitions at work (but not with a fitbit.
Do you use it when you sleep and does it work for you?

Karin, I do put it into "sleep mode" by tapping it sharply twice and it records my sleep which is displayed on my dashboard. You must remember to return it to normal mode again when you wake up. I still haven't figured out how usefull it is but I seem to get reasonably good sleep from what I see recorded, although I sometimes forget to activate and deactivate it but I think it still records activity like steps etc.
Hope that helps and enjoy the 'addiction'!

I am an addict and proud of it! Started over a year ago with a goal of 5K a day. Gradually increased to where I am today, which is 70 pounds lighter and 18 -20K a day. I am at my goal weight for the first time in my life! A couple of times I have lost my FItBit and it led to a total freak out!!!!! LOL. I LOVE FITBIT. : )

You stick to your steps and food goals so rigidly your husband starts referring to it as your **ahem**bit!

I wondered about the wrist device as well, how can it accurately show steps when moving your hand might show 'steps' ? A drummer, guitarist or prolific self pleasurer may show many steps all while sitting down.
ETA: I am a Fitbit junkie, I will not leave home without it. It is on my body 24/7. I walk around while waiting for anything, I walk around my house to get that extra few steps in.
