Cannot update firmware on Fitbit One

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.
Hi guys, so I've had my Fitbit One since early 2013 but after I moved back from the US I misplaced my charger so I stopped using it. I just found the charger today and wanted to start using it again, installed the app, device is switched on and working, but I can't seem to update the firmware. Keeps saying Update incomplete and gives me a few options of what can be wrong but all of them are okay (Bluetooth is on, phone is near the fitbit, battery is charged, etc). Any idea what could be wrong or what I can do?

Thanks in advance!

Yes I've tried that as well but either my Wireless Dongle isn't working on
my Mac (I've read a bunch of posts about trouble with newer versions of Mac
OSX) or the issue is happening both on mobile and on the computer... I'll
see if I can find someone who has a Windows PC and see if the Mac is the
issue!

Hello @Souki,

Welcome to the community!

When you restart it, what message comes on when you first press the button?  If it's 'FITBIT 6.60' then it is up to date.

I hope this helps.

No, it says Firmware Version 6.46... It keeps saying Update incomplete but
I always get the message saying it needs a firmware update.

@Souki,

Not that it shouldn't work with your phone, but I've always done my firmware upgrades through Fitbit Connect.  Is that the way you're trying to update the firmware?  If not, then try doing it that way instead.  You'll need to install Fitbit Connect and plug in the USB dongle.

I hope this helps.

I'd suggest you make sure you're following the exact steps provided at How do I update my tracker?. Also, regarding your dongle not being recognized in your Mac, I want to know if you're using El Capitan OS? If you are, please do the following:

1. Re-download fresh copy of Fitbit Connect for Mac.
2. Uninstalling current Fitbit Connect for Mac.
3. Repairing permissions with Onyx.
4. Restart Mac.
5. Install fresh copy of Fitbit Connect.
6. Setup Fitbit Connect, connect dongle.

Hope this helps, let me know how it goes! Man Wink

Hi, I had already tried several different things and I just tried what you
said with repairing permissions and rebooting my Mac and etc. Nothing
changed... still not detecting the dongle, even though my Mac is
recognizing it. This is starting to get really frustrating...

Thanks for the help, really, but unfortunately it seems nothing is helping
at this point 😕

Hi @Souki. In Finder, under Applications, what is the version number shown for the Fitbit Connect application?
