I have a one and today it says that I have 33,000 steps when actually I have 3,000. No problem in the past with my one..

IS the Fitbit near a vibration source like a fan, dehumidifier, or even a computer CPU? It can see the vibration as steps and add false steps.
You can enter a driving record to get rid of them

Are you still experiencing the same? Please check the suggestion provided by @WendyB above, that should certainly help you out.
Also, try performing a restart on your One if the same thing keeps happening. That could also help you out with this.
