I have a Fitbit One for about 4 years now and earlier in the year it started losing the charge and it would only stay charged for 2 days at the most. I love the Fitbit One so I bought another one. Same thing happened. So now I have 2 Fitbit Ones that I can't even use because they don't hold a charge and I can't sync with my iPhone now. This customer service is the worst I have ever dealt with.

I think it is a way to eliminate the old technology have an update create a major melt down and people upgrade. (Due to the great 25% discount offered after endless trouble shooting)
Me I will upgrade but looking at something other than Fitbit i think

My One has been having an issue holding a charge as of late, and I thought that maybe it was due to be replaced (it's over 2 years old). Only to find out that fitbit seems to be phasing out all of it's clip models. WHY? I have the Charge 2, but lets face it, it's not the best thing to wear for running (and I spend a lot of time running). I don't want to wear two wrist units to count my steps, and often when I train, I'm then moving about for extended periods of time, so I'm not inclined to use my Garmin Data for my steps.
Fitbit, I think this is a really poor choice on your part, forcing people to use the wrist units. If this is the case, and the new future, I do not think I will be recommending your product anymore.

The folks at Fitbit will tell you that there is a clip option--the ZIP. I won't say any more---still thinks it's nuts of them to change out the ONE.

Yeah, but the Zip is on 2 week back order on the fitbit site, and sold out most stores I checked... so I feel like it's a matter of time before that's gone too.

I'd order it anyway--people have been saying that stuff has been delivered faster than they expected. BUT--you may also want to consider Non-Fitbit alternative products...

My workaround was the flex 2 and a magnetic clip holder from amazon (75 total, 1 day shipping with prime).
I'm considering Garmin, since I wear one already for running, but the one I want is expensive ($600) and well, pride. I'm ~2 years away from earning the "around the world badge" for fitbit steps (based on when I got the "pole to pole" and I kind of want to get it before I jump ship! I know that's a dumb reason, but, well.. it is what it is.

I got that magnetic clip holder too...it sucks. It's way too easy for the magnets to disconnect and then I have lost my tracker. I am going to have to make something that will hold it securely. I have used a gadget leash for my ONE unit, for years. I've found nothing that is more secure than that. Wish I could find a similar leash for the FLEX 2.

I am also having the same problem with my One not holding a charge after the update. I've tried the Charge 2 but don't like wearing a watch. The Zip doesn't measure floors climbed and from what I've read, some people with the Zip are experiencing the same problem with it not holding charge either. I know the One has been discontinued but Fitbit claim they will continue to support the One. So are they still working on this issue? They've recently fixed problems with the Samsung update so why not iOS??? I have been a Fitbit customer for years and love my One. However, I will have to look at something other than Fitbit if this issue is not solved.

Well today I checked my steps about mid day and realized my FitBit One was dead.... So I researched and it said to restart. This involves hooking up to the computer, which I haven't done in more that 6 months. Well there was an update. I got the FitBit to work, and did the update. So I'm hoping this fixes the issue of not holding a charge. It used to stay charged 7-8 days. Now it might be 2.... So I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this does the trick. As it's been very frustrating.

What to do? Frustrated that my Fitbit 1 doesn't last on the charge more than 2 days??

Somewhere above I copied in the procedure Fitbit support told me to try, which consisted of forcing a reboot, recharging, and turning off auto-sync (on all devices) After performing those steps, and charging my One Wednesday afternoon, it still has a full charge here Sunday evening. This is much better than in recent days.
If people have not tried this set of instructions I would recommend them.
I am, however, still without my auto-sync, which I count on. But steps in the right direction.

That is no small thing @wendy13fh and part of the reason fitbit is better than a pedometer. I’ve now got 6 years of steps and 5 of floors on fitbit and those lifetime totals are very satisfying.

I see there is another update (2.41) today. Wonder if that addresses the problem....
I’ve installed it but leaving all-day sync turned off for now, having been disappointed with 2.40 and 2.40.1 .

I went into Walmart last night. They have no Fitbit ones and the Alta and another one were on sale for over 50% off huge and cap full of them. Google the Alta and found that it was having problems with battery since an update also. Right now I'm going to the Garmin pad on since last night not sure how I'm going to like it. However not impressed with Fitbit and their lack of clarification with the issues of all these trackers since August.
But if you plan on buying another Fitbit I would suggest going to your local Walmart and seen if it's on sale heck of a lot better deal than 25% off that Fitbit is offering online
