Can I use both the dongle and the fitbit app on my phone to update my steps? Or do I have to use one or the other?

The phone app will sync directly with your Fitbit, and the dongle is not required.  The dongle is required when you want to sync with your computer (unless you are using the Windows 10 app).  You can sync with your phone or your computer -- whatever is most convenient for you.  I hope this is clear.

Hi @Jupiter123. A user guide doesn't come with the Fitbit One and many people don't realize that a product manual is available on line, which is in PDF format so you can download it to your computer. Just thought I'd pass it on. Here is the link: Fitbit One User Guide. Cheers!
