All day sync stopped suddenly

All of a sudden the all day sync feature is no longer working on my charge 3 with iPhone. I have researched all the recent questions and answers. I have done everything that was suggested. Still it says it is not able to “set up” even though it is connected to Bluetooth, restarted, turn off phone, turn back on, try again......nothing. It says, “Bluetooth Pairing Failed ... Call notifications and All-Day Sync are disabled for now” Just wanted Fitbit to know there is an ongoing issue, at least with mine.

A lot of potential here for a great device. Looking forward to some more clock face updates/bug fixes!

I totally agree!  BTW have you been able to use Fitbit Pay, because I don't even see where there is an option.

The fine print on the charge 3 says it is only available on the charge 3 special edition, and not all charge 3.

I do do not have the SE

I’ve had to troubleshoot mine from the very beginning… I’ve tried all the stuff where I turn off and on Bluetooth I’ve uninstalled the app and reinstall the app… Forgot the device in Bluetooth and reconnected it… I have removed the Fitbit from my account and re-added it… I’ve done everyone of these steps at least six or seven times and I still have problems with all day sink every second or third day after I fixed it again. Nothing I’ve done that fixes it stays fixed for more than two or three days before I have to do it again. In fact, I’ve noticed that most of the time I have to go under settings on my Fitbit and then go down and click on about and then go down and click on reboot device and then click the checkmark in there and when I do that then most of the time I can get it to work. But I have to do that kind of thing or some combination of these things every three days or sooner. I’m just getting tired of having to do this every three days for my Fitbit since it’s brand new and I’m using a brand new iPhone XR as well. I have updated the software on my Fitbit and my phone and I really feel like this problem is stemming from the updated version of the Fitbit app. I have to say that my mom also has the same phone and the same Fitbit and we bought them at the same time and although I’ve had to replace my Fitbit already because the battery died within two weeks, I was having the same problem on that device as my replacement. This is out of control.

This is a known problem with the Charge 3 and the latest firmware. Fitbit has been idiots about it, though, and gives us the runaround, telling us to genuflect with combinations of long restarts on the device, removing and adding bluetooth pairing, restarting the phone app and restarting the whole phone. They need to rollback the last firmware release, start issuing refunds, or start hiring better code monkeys. The ones they have seem to only be interested in eating bananas and throwing feces at their customers.

I noticed with my new iPhone 11 pro I haven’t had the issue anymore. Now if I could just get Fitbit pay to work! 😩

Horrible.  So disappointing.  The same thing happened to me.  I will be buying an Apple Watch for Christmas.

Thank you thank you thank you!! I also tried all the troubleshooting and nothing helped! Then I tried forgetting this device as suggested and it worked! Don’t know how long it will last but at least I know a fix now. This was driving me crazy.

Yes, I've done this multiple times, it's syncing for a day, then it switches off again!  It's rather aggravating!

I've just forgotten this feature, totally unacceptable.

My charge3 has same problem resync works about 1/2 the time for a short time. It’s a pain and a time waster. We need a good fix we shouldn’t have to be repairing every day!

Thank you! First, though, just check the Bluetooth connection on your iPhone. You might not have to do the other steps. Somehow mine had shut off and I was sure it was a Charge 3 issue. I wouldn't have figured this out without you!

My phone bluetooth says connected but the fitbit app says it cannot connect. When I resync the phone must be plugged into the charger and hooked to the computer or it will not give me a pairing number. I haver to do this any time I want to sync, sometimes several times a day.

What a pain. I hope the original “best solution” works for you. I just got lucky.

Thank you for that idea but I always start with basic Bluetooth connection
troubleshooting, by making sure it’s connected and trying it turn it off
then back on, etc. and it was never the Bluetooth—it’s always a full-blown
mysterious connection fail that requires signing out and signing in etc.
and often forgetting the device in Bluetooth and often even deleting the
device and re-pairing and sometimes deleting and reinstalling the app.
Sometimes I have had to do all these steps together to get back to normal.
It’s a fitbit problem. My old Alta never had this problem, but I’ve had the
same problem on two different Fitbits—Charge 2 and Charge 3–on 4 different
iPhones—iPhone SE, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone XR and iPhone 11. Many times I’ve
completed all the troubleshooting listed on Fitbit’s website and even
googled more troubleshooting... and even called Fitbit for troubleshooting
assistance... and had to get a replacement on a two week old Fitbit Charge
3 device... By now, after getting official Fitbit assistance, I definitely
know I’m doing all the right troubleshooting. It’s the equipment and/or the
software. 🤓

Sounds like Fitbit has not fixed the loss of all day sync, unfortunately.  I have had my Apple Watch, series 4, for about six months - not one problem.  Always get my calls, texts, e-mails, alerts without once having to re-sync it.  Well worth the $300 and I highly recomend.

I did end up getting an Apple Watch series 5 after my original post and
you’re right, I love it. The only drawback to an Apple Watch is that the
Apple step tracking/pedometer is terribly inaccurate compared to the
awesomeness of Fitbit trackers—-WHEN the Fitbit trackers work and sync
properly...😏😉
