I have tried restarting it (as advised), but it hasn't made any difference to the display. Any other suggestions please.

@ShellBr, if you have restarted it, and that did not correct i, you will need to contact Fitbit Support so that they can help resolve this issue. By "backwards display", you are referring to mirror image, and not upside down, correct?

@ShellBr Welcome to the Fitbit Community! I hope you're doing well! Sorry to hear that your tracker is displaying the screen backwards. Like @USAF-Larry said if the restart didn't work then your will need to interact with our Support team as they are the ones that can solve this type of issue but you will get an email from them. Still I suggest you retry the restart a few times by doing the following:
Plug the charging cable to your computer or UL certified wall adapter.
Align the contacts of the tracker with the charging cable and plug it in making sure it snaps securely.
Your tracker should start charging.
Press the button for 10 to 12 seconds.
You should see your tracker's firmware version and you can now unplug your tracker.
Let me know how it goes!

Many thanks. Yes it was a mirror image issue, but the fit bit then began to have further problems and is not working at all. I gave contacted Fitbit support and hopefully they can help me.

I had this issue. I followed the instructions from ShellBr and they worked perfectly. Key is pressing the button while fitbit is still in dock. Display is now back to normal.
