CLOCKING STEPS WHILST DRIVING - EASIER SOLUTION

Hi Guys,

Felt sorry for my girlfriend who bought me this Charge 3 without checking the reviews first because she assumed a brand such as Fitbit known for its trackers would be able to produce a good tracker haha. That and the "fat" sales rep in Harvey Norman who clearly had never used a Fitbit before told her it was the best of its class haha. I have enjoyed teasing her about it especially since she bought a Garmin for herself because its cheaper which turned out to be a far superior product.

I am currently trying to return my Charge 3 but am doubtful I will be able to especially based off the atrocious reaction from Fitbit to the complaints about this product that being they completely ignore them haha. Anyway since I will most likely be stuck with this joke of a product I played around with it to see if there's anything that can be done to reduce the level of sensitivity to driving. (Drove 2.5 hours on the motorway and clocked 10,000 steps)

As you guys all said already logging driving or taking it off in the car is simply unacceptable as a "solution" to this problem. I discovered that if you put the band on your non dominant hand and put the setting on "dominant" this counterbalances pretty well. I commute to work 45mins each way and this morning I only clocked 75 steps v's the usual few thousand. However when running it still clocks most steps making the product somewhat bearable to use since I cant afford to get myself a Garmin at this time.

Anyway to those who cant or haven't retuned there's yet, hope this helps.

And to Fitbit, seriously lads? I am an engineer myself and I understand that using arm movement will leave your product susceptible to inaccurate steps whilst driving due to steering action and gear changes. HOWEVER it cannot be that difficult to update the software to contain a simple driving mode on the band that the user can select. Like seriously, if Tesla can add in autonomies driving via a software update to their cars how the hell cant you guys figure this out? And fine if you cant or wont make the change at least communicate why to your customer base. This is common sense especially for a company of your size.

Finally to the Fitbit reps on this forum, its not your fault Fitbit is a joke so don't take any of those harsh replies you got personally, its just bad business in the end of the day. Peace!
