Hi Ricardo,
I noticed it Monday and it’s been doing it every day since. I normally have to delete an entry and re add it but it’s still not quite right.
I have an iPhone 5s
Thanks for your message.

Thanks for your reply and update @Cornishyogagirl, sorry for the delay in replying.

The details that were shared in your post are appreciated, seems odd that you're experiencing this uncommon situation and even more when your iPhone 5S is compatible with our products and services. That said, please try the following steps:

  1. Log out from your Fitbit account
  2. Force quit the Fitbit app
  3. Make sure that the OS version of your iPhone is up to date
  4. Reboot your mobile device
  5. Log in using your Fitbit credentials
  6. Try again to add an entry

Let me know how it goes.

Yes! I'm having the same problem! My calories are not adding up properly at all. The food will show up as logged in the app (sometimes twice), but when I log into my dashboard on the computer, some foods will be missing completely. I added the food items back in through the computer and realized my Fitbit app is deducting 100-200 calories every day from my actual calorie count!

Hi @LulaWalker, welcome aboard. Sorry for the delay in responding.

Thanks for sharing your experience with us, I'm sorry to know that you're experiencing the same. To move forward with this situation, can you please let me know which mobile device you're using to log food? Also, when was the first time you experienced this? Please try the troubleshooting steps that were specific on my post above and let me know the outcome.

I'll be here if you need anything else.

I have an iPhone 7s.
fitbit sense
the food logging is almost to the point of me deciding to switch vendors.

…It will arbitrarily double post entries.
… At times the time delays are horrible to post an item.  I search - I find it. I hit log and wait.

.. The latest is it adds the totals for each of my meals correctly, then does not add the meals together correctly.  I change an item by 1 gm and sometimes it updates the total correctly and other times it does not.  But when I quit the app and then go back in it reverts back to the wrong total. Right now by 160 calories Grrrrr…

… The total calories in and left on the TODAY tab and the LOG FOOD tab are rarely the same and often off by hundreds of calories.

Asking me to force quit says: our quality control is not any good in our updates.  You are making your problems my problem.

My fitbit app is not counting up at all. I have had 2300 cal and it lists the food and each items cals but does not it add up to show total cals. It only says 259 cals.

Hi,

Have been having trouble logging food via my phone app (Samsung, Android, using Charge 2) for 2 days now. I'm trying various ways to break down what's happening. So far, it seems that after my first use of the app to log food on any day, further items logged via the app do not get added into the total eaten or affect how many calories left. If I log on via a PC they usually are ... as a temporary workaround, ok, but feel really frustrated as it appears that I only ever have to come onto this community to complain about Fitbit.

Anyone else having this problem?

Mine is doing this too. Anyone have a solution? Or recommend a different app to track food?

I'm also having issues. For some reason it's only adding the calories from breakfast and lunch, but nothing after that.

Yes, same problem. Yesterday I managed to enter all food correctly by only doing it directly through the website. Today I'm going to try entering everything in one go through the phone app.

Either way, I've already tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app with a mb restart.

Also, this thread started in 2019. I started it as a new topic two days ago but haven't had a response yet.

Hi all,

@OllieFox @popcandy @Jenmy6445 @dhsgmh12

as this is clearly a live issue, I am going to tag you all on the Topic I started for it two days ago - please make any further comments there, maybe we'll get a response that way ...

Cheers, Victoria.

My my my what fun.

@OllieFox @popcandy @Jenmy6445 @dhsgmh12

Couldn't find my previous topic, then noticed that Fitbit moderators weren't moderating "Other Charge Trackers" any more anyway, so headed for FitBit support and had a Live Chat, that basically established that the last app update was two days ago and that food tracking stopped working two days ago.

This has now been "escalated" and I am to expect an email from somebody who can look at this issue ...

This is happening to me as well, I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling, logging out and back in, using the website, nothing is work. Today it completely deleted track calories for Monday and Tuesday. This is incredibly frustrating.

Me as well, Fitbit charge. Worked fine yesterday but now saying I've had 1114 Cal's, when from my food log, when you add it manually, it says 1900 odd.... Kinda need this to work for me to help with my weight loss..
