I am pretty sure this is a moisture problem. Judging from my family's
failures they went from those that swet the most to those that don't really

water resistant to fifty meters.
Like I said a design flaw! A fitness monitor that cannot deal with sweat? It’s such a shame as the Fitbit interface is great but the hardware is flawed. This is my 3rd Fitbit. I’m done and switching to Apple Watch. Apple at least cares about their reputation. I saw someone in this forum trying to claim the user wasn’t charging it properly and that was the fault.

The same thing has happened to mine now too, pixellated screen and now competly blank: only a year and a half old. I am in Ireland, and even if an item is outside warranty, under the Sale and supply of good act one of the clausses in the act states "it for its normal purpose, and reasonably durable", For example reasonably durable on a TV is classed as about 6 years. I am sure an activity tracker would be expected to last more than a year and a half, using it the way you are expected to be used. I will be putting this to Fitbit customer services. Poor, poor quality would not risk buying one again.

1,000’s of people are having the same issues.....has Fitbit come up with an update yet to solve the issue or is it still a “here, have a discount on another” attitude. Come on guys, get it together. You must gather by now, most people on here are concerned and want it fixed, as we / were all enjoying your products. I’m from Australia, I’m deciding to seek further direction.
Statutory warranties
Regardless of whether a voluntary or extended warranty is available, the TPA, FTAs and SGAs protect consumers when they buy goods and services. They do so by implying certain rights and obligations into all consumer contracts, and these can be categorised as:
• ‘conditions’, which are essential terms of the contract — that is, terms that are so important to the purpose of the contract that, if they are breached, will allow a consumer to cancel the contract and seek a refund as well as seek compensation for loss or damage; and
• ‘warranties’, which are less significant terms — that is, secondary considerations that are important and, if they are breached, will generally allow consumers to seek damages, but will not allow consumers to terminate the contract.
Refunds
Consumers are entitled to receive a refund for goods where there has been a breach of a statutory condition (but not a statutory warranty). That is, the consumer may be entitled to a refund if the goods they purchased:
• are or become faulty through no fault of the consumer;
• are not fit for a stated purpose or a purpose the consumer made known to sales staff at the
time of purchase;
• do not match the description or sample shown to the consumer ; or
5
• have defects that were not obvious or not shown to the consumer before they purchased.

Maybe there are so many issues, it's a real problem if everyone were to take a stand together.
Maybe we should consider why they're so scared. Why is it ok for a device to routinely fail just beyond a year? Why is it ok for them to pass the buck?

I concur it may have to do with sweating/water as my went thru a whole wash cycle by accident. Shortly after my display dimmed and now faint but continues to track and sync to phone.
I read one post that said their display reappeared after a couple of weeks. I'm going to turn my dehumidifier on in a small room and hope for the best.

I am having the same problem. I have searched for anything I can do to correct the problem and nothing has worked.
i just tested it and it is still recording information as noted on my cell phone but my IPad not longer connects. The screen is still blank. It is fully charged according to my phone and vibrate’s when button pushed. Green lights on the bottom are still on.
blue tooth turned off and back on. Phone shut off and restarted. Nothing.
It bothers me to see so many people with the same problem.
I think since has been such a problem that it should be recalled and a new model option should be available. I rely on my Fitbit because of my Parkinsonism and have not fallen since I have kept up with my exercise.

I am going to contact customer service and if I am not satisfied with the outcome I think the users of Charge 2 need to make a stand in regard to it. I am going to check consumer report or consumer evaluation of the product and gather information on the problem. I may have to go through and see how many people are having problems to have data to back up my complaint.
If anyone else wants to research or gather info to have a case to present please do.
The information on the charge 2 talks about moisture and not to take it swimming. I don’t wear it in the shower. But beyond that moisture from sweating etc. should not cause a problem based on the instructions.

I would join up anything that ends up happening. I've had mine 18 months.
No cracks, never touched liquids aside from normal sweat (which is the
purpose of a *fitness* tracker, no?!). This feels like a case of either
shoddy workmanship or planned obsolescence. It seems like hurting the
bottom line is the only way to get fulfillment on the contract we as
consumers made with the producer.
Exactly. A fitness tracker should be able to track fitness.

So I have got no where. I talked to a supervisor who would not connect me with anyone higher up since she just manages the techs on the phone or on line. She said there is no quality control person I can talk too. I have to think about my next step.
She said there are not many noted on line that are a problem and compared to the amount they sell it is not a large amount. I said there are a lot and I even research Charge 3, versa, Ionic inspire etc. look them all up and see the problems noted.
We just have to be the few of the large number of people that are having trouble so we are out in the cold.
Besides thinking about the next step I am going to research other companies to see what history they have as well.
I am not very happy.
Any suggestions would be great.
