Charge 2 Bluetooth issues

My Fitbit Charge 2 says it has Bluetooth issues when trying to connect. "If you see this message For the first time press cancel and try again. If you continue receiving this message, press restart bluetooth to turn bluetooth off and on." I have seen this message so many times I gave up for months. I tried:

  • Bluetooth off and on;
  • Letting the Fitbit battery die and recharging it;
  • App deleted and downloaded;
  • Checked if it was the latest version of the app;
  • Checked if my phone was up to date;
  • WiFi and cellular are on, turned them off and on;
  • The app is allowed to run on the background;
  • Location is on;
  • It's the only device on my phone, I disconnected all other devices;
  • Only use the app on my phone;
  • Can't check for updates on the Fitbit because I can't connect it to my phone;
  • Restarted the Fitbit;
  • Can't connect it to other devices such as iPad.

If anyone knows the solution or things I could try, I would really appreciate it.

@Stevie123 It's great to see that you've visited the Fitbit Community!

I will assist you with your Charge 2 not syncing and sorry for the delay in my reply. Also thank you for troubleshooting this issue. Which phone are you using? Is it compatibleYou can try going to your phone's bluetooth settings and remove all devices listed there. Restart your phone and restart your device. After this try syncing them. Also, if you are using an Android device, check that your app has the necessary permissions (settings > apps > Fitbit > permissions) and make sure bluetooth and location services (GPS) are on. You can find additional suggestions here.

Let me know how it goes.

Dear Alvaro,

Thanks for the reply. No worries about the delay it didn't take that long 🙂

I have a OnePlus 6, so yes it is compatible.

After removing all the devices and restarting my phone and fitbit, it still didn't connect.

Both bluetooth and location services are on.

My phone says it's connected to the charge 2, but the app says it's not connected when I try to synchronize it.

I also tried the additional suggestions, but nothing worked 😞

I'm experiencing the same issue. My charge 2 just suddenly stopped connecting to my app last Tuesday. I've done everything listed and I also can't get it to connect.

I have the same issue and have tried all the solutions listed... The phone (Xiaomi mi A2) could sync until I got an update...
