Good Afternoon,
I recently updated from a Samsung S7 edge to a Samsung S9 and my fitbit is no longer tracking my runs if my screen is locked. I assume this is a problem with the phone settings, not the fitbit- but has anyone encountered this? If my screen is awake and unlocked, my fitbit stays connected and tracks my run, but if I lock my screen, it loses connectivity and does not track.
I've tried a lot of the "fixes" on the board, but to no avail- is this a failure of Samsung? I can't be the only person facing this issue...

@Lola421 Welcome! It's nice to have you on board!
I will gladly assist you with your GPS activities on your new phone. This could be a battery saver configuration issue so please go to settings and look for this option on your phone. Additionally check that the app has the necessary permissions (settings > apps > Fitbit > permissions) on your phone.
Let me know how it goes.

Hello @Lola421 ,
I'm having the exact same issue with my charge 2 and my OnePlus 3T. I have the Location Permission active and the Fitbit app is not optimized with the Battery optimization option.
When I start an activity with connected GPS the Charge 2 syncs with phone and the icon for the connected GPS appears as it should. After about 1min after I lock the phone, the Charge 2 loses the connected GPS and it won't connect again until I unlock the phone. When I unlock the phone it connects under 5sec
