Hello,
First time poster. I am about to go climb more mountains in Colorado next week. I've done this many times in the past with my Charge 2.
My problem is, I'll be at 11,000 ft elevation and my heart rate will easily be in the 170s but my fitbit never goes above say 119. This happens routinely when I am normally working out, but eventually the fitbit seems to "catch up" and gets my heart rate correct. But after NINE hours on the mountain, it never once got above 120. EVER. And let me tell you, I was busting my butt up that mountain.
Now, I've done my research before posting this and I have:
--raised the device higher on my wrist -- no change
--wiped the sweat off my arm -- no change
--turned the device inside my wrist and higher -- no change
--RESET the device when returning to my camp -- no change
To slap me in the face today, I was training for my upcoming trip by climbing flight after flight of stairs, and sure enough it showed a heart rate between 147-155 which is what I would expect. So, it works when I am at home, sweating, without moving the device up my wrist, or resetting, it just doesn't work when I am on the side of a mountain at elevation.
Thoughts?

@MuseJay Welcome! It's great to see you around!
Let me help you with your heart rate reading and thank you for troubleshooting this issue. I suggest you clean the back of your device with cotton and rubbing alcohol and restart it. Turn the heart rate off, save and sync then turn it on save and sync again. Also check these tips to improve the heart rate reading on your device.
Let me know how it goes.
