This has been incredibly infuriating. If anyone can help, it would be greatly appreciated.
For a while, my fitbit charge 2 was syncing all stats with the iphone app, but the clock was not updating and I wasn't able to get alerts. When I pulled down on the app to sync, it would sync for a long while before alerting me that the sync was unsuccessful.
Here's what I've tried to do and it only made my situation worse.
1) I've tried rebooting the fitbit (plug into charger, hold button for several seconds). Didn't work.
2) I've tried turning my phone off and on again. Didn't work.
3) I've tried turning bluetooth off and on again. Didn't work.
4) I've tried unpairing the device then pairing it again. - Only gets to the "we found your device" but then would be unable to pair.
5) I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app on my iphone. - It now finds my device and I get the 4-digit pairing code. After I enter the code, the device always fails to pair.
Can someone please help me with this? This has been incredibly frustrating.

Hi there @Oxman88. Welcome to Community Forums.
I'm sorry to hear about your experience and appreciate the feedback and comments. I'd recommend you check you have the latest Fitbit Firmware and OS of your mobile device, then follow these instructions to restart your device.
Then unpair the device from your Fitbit account and from the bluetooth settings on all devices, and then pair it by following these instructions. Some users find it useful to refresh the performance.
And check these articles, How do I change the time on my Fitbit device?, How do I navigate my Fitbit device? and Why won't my Fitbit device sync?.
