Charge 2 battery crashing

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My battery life on my Charge 2 suddenly tanked today. Normally go a week or so between charges and I charged it to 85% last night. It was dead afternoon! I charged it to 100% and within 2 hours it was dead again. What is going on?

I came here to research a similar issue. I used to go about a week between charges and suddenly this week the battery has been draining extremely quickly. Last night before bed I took it off the charger with it displaying 98% it's been less than 11hrs and it is now at 55% with regular usage.

I forgot to include that about 3 days ago the heart rate stopped reading consistently (I'm still here, so fairly confident it's the FitBit and not me...) and there were some lines going through the display.  And this morning after I woke up it was dead, so I charged it again and the clock was off by about 5 hours.  I also contacted FitBit via Twitter and seem to be getting some traction there, got the initial reply and case #, now waiting to hear from them.  You may want to give that a go if you haven't already.  It seems very odd that so many users had the same issue with the battery life so suddenly.

This exact same thing just started happening for me this morning. Go figure it happens right after I place a ticket for it not displaying my heart rate. There is something strange going on with this model.

I hope we get some answers and soon.

Last week, mine went from 80% charge to completely dead during the night.  I put it on the charger in the morning, got battery up to 100%, took of the charger, dead within 10 minutes.  Repeated and same thing.  I bought a Charge 3, wish I had known this was an issue before I spent all of that money.

My wife’s Charge 2 won’t stay charged as of about 2 days ago. Lasts for less than 10 minutes after being fully charged.

I'm in conversations with Support right now and this is what they told me to do.  My Charge 2 first stopped reading my heart rate a few days before the battery issue and others have reported the same thing within the past week.  There has to have been a bug in the latest update.  I never enable quick view, never turn on reminders to move or anything that could be draining the battery.

At this point, we're unable to diagnose your Fitbit's battery life as we'll need to see it cycle from 100% - 0% battery level. To assist your better, please try restart your Charge 2 we have this link: How do I restart my Fitbit device? for you.

Once done, we recommend to do a battery test to see how long your battery lasts after a full charge. Please do the following:

  1. Disable the features that can impact battery life as described in https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/2004
  2. Fully charge your tracker.
  3. Sync your tracker 5-6 times a day.
  4. Wear your tracker until it is fully depleted.

When your battery is completely drained, meaning that your tracker is no longer responsive and you no longer see the low battery indicator, let us know the day you fully charged your tracker and the day it was fully depleted.

I've been emailing with Support and here's what they told me to do so they could get a read on what the battery life is currently:
