Let me help you with your Charge 2 battery draining quickly. Try cleaning the contacts using cotton swab with rubbing alcohol, then charge it by plugging it for a couple of hours directly to your computer's USB port (try different ports) or use an UL-certified USB adapter. After this, restart your device and see how it behaves. You can follow these instructions to help improve the battery life.

Thanks for your help but sadly the device still did not hold a charge.

I purchased a new charge 3 with a 25% discount from Fitbit. That is some consolation but I am disappointed that my Charge 2 was defective after only 4 years from purchase.

Hopefully, the new Charge 3 will last longer.
