How long should the battery last with normal use? If the battery stops holding a charge after a couple of years, is it possible to replace it or does the entire device need to be replaced?

Hi @Enfield these devices vary in how long their battery lasts. Some have lasted two years and some for twice that, but it depends on the individual user. There are places that sell the battery service and/or the battery that you can install. By the time you spend the money to have a battery (from an old Charge 2) installed, you could almost get a new Fitbit. Sales are going on all the time.

There is a serious problem with the battery in the charge 2 that Fitbit refuses to acknowledge and why there are YouTube videos showing how to replace them. Check out the other posts on this and realise Fitbit don’t value customer loyalty so I now don’t value brand loyalty.
