Charge 2 button stuck

For the last few days my charge 2 is going through all my menu options on its own as if the button is stuck. The display has also started to almost shrink down from the top and bottom. Idk what’s happening I hope it’s not on its last leg...

I am having this same issue with my charge 2 and seeing as every complaint of this issue is with the charge 2 I am willing to bet that since they do not manufacture it anymore since the release of the charge 3 that they are using software updates to do this issue of the charge 2 to cycle them out forcing people to buy the charge 3 or other tracker. how many people agree with me?

Hi,  i have a similar problem. My charge 2 started vibrating and flipping through screens.  When i tried to restart it appeared that the side button may be stuck,  although i am not sure. Are you able to help?

Hi i was unable to fix the fault. Fitbit did exchange the device free of charge. Have you been in touch with fitbit? I did it via the live chats.  Hope you get sorted. Sent from my Samsung Galaxy smartphone.

I did that and just like I thought all they want you to do is buy a new device. Gave me a 25% off coupon but still.  I guarantee they did this to people’s charge 2 with an auto update so they would be forced into upgrading to a new device.

Mine was actually a charge 3, so a bit newer model. I had the option of
half price new version or a replacement. I chose replacement. I'm happy
with the service i received,

My Charge 2 I bought in Feb last year started doing this last night. Woke me up twice turning notifications on and off. I charged it and reset it to no avail. It did behave briefly when I pulled the button out, but a few minutes later it was scrolling through all the screens. As it's out of warranty now I guess I'm on my own, which may well mean a Garmin Instinct.

I would contact then anyway as it is a known problem. You never know, they
might send you a replacement.... nothing to lose! Good luck!

Out of warranty. No replacement. Not even a voucher. Considering I had to get it replaced within a few weeks of buying it and it gone mad now 20 months after that, I'm not spending any more money with Fitbit. Garmin Vivoactive 3 for me.

I had the exact same problem to pop-up yesterday. It happened after running in rain for a 3-year-old Charge 2.

The problem is most likely caused by water/sweat entering next to the button. Maybe a damaged button seal is letting water in. My problem went away after letting the Charge 2 to be on its own overnight. Not very confident on future lifetime.

Hiya, this was a while ago but I’ve started to get this issue recent where the bottom seems to be stuck and keeps cycling through the all the tabs.

Any tips to solve this??

Can you verify if it is the button physically stuck (cannot feel it going down when you press it) or if the button works fine, but you just get a lot of ghost presses?

If the button is physically stuck, try to vacuum any dirt out next to it.

If it’s the latter and as I replied before, it might be caused by moisture seeping in from the button opening. You can try to leave it in a dry place (relative humidity less than 30%) for 24 h or even try a bit of gentle hair dryer treatment next to the button.
