Charge 2 exercise/buzzing

I have a Charge 2 and when I start a work out the device buzzes and says to check the app. I'm unclear as what to do. If I'm on the treadmill the device starts buzzing and shows a phone with a line through it. The sync on the app is set to all day and syncs all day. What am i doing wrong? This started about 3 or 4 months ago.

Let me help you with your inquiry. What you are seeing is the connected GPS function. It will prompt you to sync with your Fitbit app to ensure the GPS data is gathered for activities that have this option (like run). You can just ignore this prompt and record your activity. You can read more about this feature here.
