Charge 2 going berserk

My Charge 2 battery was unexpectedly dead this morning, and after charging it, it has become unusable. First it just kept cycling quickly through all the different modes, then it was vibrating with notification alerts for several minutes. Now it's just frozen with a heart on the screen. Is it done?

@alicat003   The rechargeable battery in a Fitbit does have a lifespan.  With average use, they have a lifespan of 3-5 years.  The Charge 2 was released in 2016, the year you joined.  You need to prepare yourself for the possibility that your Fitbit is coming to the end of its life, especially when you say your Fitbit was unexpectedly dead.  Based on user posts, users of all devices from that time (Alta/Alta HR, Blaze, and Charge 2) are having the same experience as you.

Hello @alicat003

I’d try restarting your Charge 2: https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1186.htm. If the problem continues you can try changing the clock face through the the Fitbit App : https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/2311.htm

I’ve seen changing the clock face help some. Preferably with one made by Fitbit.
I hope this helps

I think you're right...I thought it was okay after the restart but it started acting wonky again. 😞 I didn't realize that I've had it that long!

Hello again @alicat003

You can certainly try restarting it again. It certainly wouldn’t hurt to try. Hopefully it might help. Did you try changing the clock face as well? But yes…all batteries in Fitbit Trackers do eventually die. It’s to be expected since you’ve had it for so long.

I restarted it again and also tried changing the clock face this
morning...no luck. I noticed that battery is no longer holding a charge for
more than a day, so I think the battery is the issue. Oh well. Shopping for
a new one wouldn't be the worst thing. 😄
