Charge 2 hand-off issue

I have a problem. I got a new smartwatch for my birthday and wanted to give mijn fitbit Charge 2 to my girlfriend. We followed the steps to link it to her account and we were pleased when it seemed to work. However, the device having been in use for a few days, she wanted to check her sleep cycle, she noticed the device wasnt added to her account. Thinking it might still be on mine, I checked, but it wasnt added there either. We are now at a loss how to get it connected to her account because it seems to be running solo. The "seeming to work" we gathered after she got a notification on the charge 2 she had a text.

can anyone help?

@Beau_86 Welcome to the Fitbit Community! I hope you're doing well! Sorry for the delay in my reply.

Let me help you with your Charge 2 not showing on the correct account. I would remove all devices from the account then set up the Charge 2 as a new device again by following these instructions.

Let me know how it goes.

Dear Alvaro,

I have solved the problem myself.

I had deleted the device from my account through the app on my phone, then tried refreshing (causing the phone to send the signal to the fitbit that it should reset to factory settings) but the fitbit never received the signal it should reset. This caused the “solo” fitbit seemingly not connected to anything. And seemingly not being able to do anything with the fitbit.

The solution:

I re-connected the device to my account through the app on my phone, this by using the standard “connect device” steps.

I then used my laptop to log into my account and deleted the fitbit through there. Then turning back to my phone I refreshed and lo and behold the fitbit was set to the factory settings.

it was then no problem connecting the fitbit to my partners account en setting it up there.

thanks for the reply!
