Hey @AMF1957, welcome to the Community! Smiley Happy If you haven't already read our information and tips about improving accuracy, take a look at this post. Factors such as tracker placement, dominant or non-dominant wrist, and stride length can all affect the number of steps recorded.

If after taking these factors into account you still think your tracker is significantly undercounting or overcounting steps, please try a step test:
1. Put your wrist-based tracker on your wrist.
2. Walk 100 steps, making sure to count a step each time one of your feet hits the ground.
3. Pause, then check your tracker to see your step count.

If your tracker counted less than 100 steps or more than 100, you can also try to restart it. Just follow the instructions in this post to do so. 😉

Hello! I am having the same issue... i’ve Done the 100 step test and have come up with about 80 every time and have tried resetting. Sometimes my device doesn’t track steps at all — I could walk 50 steps and not even get one. I have check all of my settings — non-dominant wear on the left and I am right handed. Any suggestions?

Hey @Viennavandriel, welcome aboard! Thanks for taking the time to try some tips to improve the accuracy of your Charge 2. I'd like you to take the following into consideration as well:

- I which hand are you wearing your tracker? On your dominant or on your non dominant hand?

- Have you double checked that your demographics (height and weight) are correct? That also affects your steps tracked.

- Remember that swinging your arms is necessary so your Charge 2 recognize many of your steps.

Give it a try and let me know how it goes!

My fitbit Charger 2 will no longer record data (ie. heart rate and steps.)  Can it be restarted?  I held the button until logo appeared but would not reset,  Battery is charged regularly.  Is it fixable or do I need to purchase a new fitbit??

My fit bit is not tracking my steps. I have had to restart several times to get it to track. It works for a few days then nothing. I delete the app and turn my blue tooth off and then on AGAIN AND AGAIN. Not happy with this product at all. I also cannot transmit the data to my WW activity tracker. Very frustrating to say the least.

I am having the same problem, just started today, I have reset multiple times and my charge 2 isn't hardly tracking any steps at all. It did track a run for distance and steps and still tracks stairs. But it stays at the same numberlike 13370 for up to 100 steps I can shake my arm and it might track a few steps then freezes at one number again.

Mine is doing this as well. How do I fix it?

I was curious if you ever got your Fitbit to count your steps correctly again.  I was reaching my goal every day over 10,000 fir a long time then in the last week I get ~1100 that sounds like quite a bit of a difference.

My fitbit counted steps pretty accurately for about 20 months. I calibrated it many times as I walked about 4-6 miles a day around a measured lake walkway. A few months ago I noticed a change. My usual 2.6 mile walk was 2.2 miles or less. I tried counting my steps and found that I could walk 80 steps and the fitbit might show about 60. I did this many times. I have also the noticed the steps being stuck on a certain number at times. I have restarted the fitbit several times. It always worked well. Now I am comparing the results of another App that uses GPS and it clearly shows 10-20% more distance routinely. The fitbit will show close to 2 miles and the GPS app will show 2.4 miles. So is it worn out? Can it be fixed? Time to buy a new one?

My inspire 2 is tracking steps but they aren't showing up on my Fitbit app. Before I got a new phone, steps, calories and heart rate showed up on the app along with sleep trends but now I have to look for the heart rate and can't even find the steps on the app.

My steps aren’t showing up either. Maybe I’ll treat myself to an iwatch for my birthday.
