Losing sync on charge 2 every day. Have uninstalled software multiple times and still keep losing sync. Anyone have an answer.

My old Versa fitbit (single button on left side version), as just started losing time (presumably because it is losing the sync with the Bluetooth on my cell, which it does very frequently these days).
I just lost a full day trying everything offered on this forum yesterday, including watching it re-activate for about 45 minutes at a time for 4 attempts before it finally worked.
However, the watch is still losing time - I now read that there is an update available, but for the past 15 minutes it tells me it is searching for the update? Probably because my bluetooth is not connecting yet gain! (yes I've tried switching it off and back on - with no success.
Hopefully someone has a simple fix to keep the bluetooth up and running (it only as the fitbit and my car phone as devices?)
this is my last attempt, before I decide that 10 hours of wasted time (in my aging life) is worth more than my spending anymore time on a **ahem** watch.

really? two pages of complaints, one person says it worked and you mark it “solved”??? this tells me all i need to know about fitbit support. which tells me all i need to know about ever buying another fitbit!
