Charge 2 nickel in heart rate monitor

Hi I've had my charge 2 for a while and I always get an annoying outbreak right where the heart rate monitor is. Has anyone found a solution for this that won't mess up the heart rate monitor. Thanks!😊

Hey @kayla_evelyn, welcome to the Fitbit Forums! Oh! What is happening on your wrist, right below where the heart rate monitor is, sounds indeed odd, however, I'm not sure that the amount of nickel on the Charge 2 materials will be the reason because the buckle and frame on Charge 2 are made of surgical-grade stainless steel. While all stainless steel contains traces of nickel and can cause an allergic reaction in someone with nickel sensitivity, the amount of nickel in all Fitbit products meets the European Union's stringent Nickel Directive. That being said, I'd like you to take a look at our wear and care tips in this link to keep your Charge 2 as clean as possible and do it periodically. However, if after a few days you see that this still happening, please let me know, I will definitely continue assisting you. 😉

This has been happening to me as well and I’m not sure if there is something I can coat it with that would help this from happening? I have used various clear coating things in the past but will this affect the HR monitor?

Hello @MLindsayBrown, let me give you a warm welcome to the Community! In regards of the usage of your Charge 2, can you please tell me, exactly what type of inconvenience are you getting below the heart rate monitor of your Charge 2? Have you also tried to clean it by following our wear and care tips?

I'd like you to give me more details so I can help you out better. And now regarding your question, let me tell you that those clear coatings might affect your heart rate readings since the heart rate monitor doesn't have direct contact with your skin.

Let me know! I'll be around!

I am also having the same problem with my Fitbit charge 2. I was wearing it on my non dominant hand, my left, and I've had a horrible rash on my wrist for months. I've switched to the other wrist, and I'm starting to get a rash on that wrist now. I am allergic to nickel. My dr. gave me a steroid cream which helps for a period of time, but it won't heal unless I take the band off completely. I've kept it on my right hand the past month and a half. I do clean it regularly as well. I'd be willing to send pictures of the rash. I just dont know what else to do.
