Charge 2 no automatic sync and no activity recognition

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Since a few months now, my Charge 2 stopped synchronizing automatically.
This problem occurred with my old phone (Samsung Galaxy S5) and my new one (Xiaomi 9T).
Both the app and the software are up to date. I tried reinstalling the app and resetting my charge 2, but nothing works.
When I synchronize manually, it takes a long time, but it works eventually.

It also stopped recognizing activities automatically and when I track one manually (by starting it from my charge 2) it does not appear in the app.

Does anyone have similar problems and/or a solution?
All the other features seem to work fine and my charge 2 is only 2 years old.
I used it daily and would like to keep doing so!

@Antheavp It's great to see that you've visited the Fitbit Community!

Let me help you with your Charge 2 not syncing automatically nor saving your activities manually recorded and thank you for troubleshooting this issue. I suggest you clear the link between your phone and your tracker by doing the following:

  1. Go to your phone's bluetooth settings and remove all devices listed there.
  2. Restart your phone and restart your device
  3. Check that no battery saving app/feature on your phone is affecting your Fitbit app.
  4. Also, on an Android device, check that your app has the necessary permissions (settings > apps > Fitbit > permissions) and make sure bluetooth and location services (GPS) are on.
  5. You can find troubleshooting instructions here.

Regarding the exercise, are you having this issue with any option or only one? Have you tried other options if you only use one? I suggest you remove one or the option that you have tried, save and sync then re-add it again, save and sync again.

I look forward to your reply.

I have an iPhone 7 and am having the exact same problem: it will not track/sync steps or sleep. I have tried restarting, rebooting, all of the suggestions mentioned here, but I cannot get the app on my phone or on my laptop to sync. Is there anything else I can try before I just throw the fitbit away?

Thanks for your response @AlvaroFitbit

I restarted my phone and device and reconnected my charge 2.
It seems to be working fine now.

I know this solution has worked in the past, but unfortunately, it is usually temporary.
I will keep you updated!

Update @AlvaroFitbit

It stopped working again.
My last sync was when I restarted my phone and device yesterday.
Nothing has been recorded/ synced since then.
Syncing it manually is also taking forever.
I almost feel like the Bluetooth on my charge 2 is the problem.
