Charge 2 not counting floors

After setting up my Charge 2, the number of floors climbed.was recorded for the first week.  Since January 5th, nothing has been captured.  I hike and climb stairs every day.  Hiking with a friend yesterday and his Charge 3 captured 70 stair climbs.  In the past, the highest number of floors I climbed was 110.

 

I am also not receiving notifications of badges received.

@Mtbiker26 Welcome to the Fitbit Community! It's great to have you here! Sorry for the delay in my reply.

 

Let me help you with your Charge 2 not counting floors nor notifying you about new badges. Your device uses it's altimeter to detect variance in altitude. It will count 1 floor for every 10 ft it detects you climbed. There are situations that may affect the floor count like stormy weather (that has an actual impact on atmospheric pressure), gusts of wind, an AC unit in a closed room or opening a door. I suggest you start by cleaning the back of the device with cotton and rubbing alcohol then use compressed air at a distance to clear the altimeter's opening (check the image for reference). Finally restart it.

Regarding the badges which badges have you received? Where are you not getting notifications about them? Could you share an screenshot of the badges area on your account? Also a notification of a previous badge.

I know what the manual states.  However, I had a Fitbit Charge 2 for 2 years that recorded floors/stair climbs every day.  This Charge 2 was given to a friend who never wore it.  It was new when I received it in December 2019.  For the first week and a half it recorded every day.  After the first of January, it has never captured any steps.I tried to reboot it, but the instructions provided by the Help section didn't work.Please let me me know how I can reboot the watch.Sent from my Verizon, Samsung Galaxy smartphone
