Charge 2 not counting floors

Just bought 2 charge 2s. And, neither one is counting floors climb. I’ve restarted mine 3 times, I deleted the app and installed it again, I delete the device and paired it again, any thoughts? Just bought them so might return them. And, bought the charge 2 because it counted floors climbed.

One thought is to make sure the stair flights are at least 10 feet elevation gain.  If it was say 9 ft, would not get detected even if keep going up and down.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.
