Charge 2 not recording activity

For some reason my charge 2 and my wife's charge 2 are not recording activity. The elliptical is intense to 139 to 140 bpms for 40 min. This time was enough for the charger to detect the activity. It is not happening. I have read past posts and there is no straight answer to solve this issue. Please help. I need to solve this issue ASAP. Very frustrating.

The way to be sure your workout gets recognized is to use the Exercise App, starting and stopping the exercise session manually, rather than relying on auto-recognition.

Thank you. Not really happy because it was working like a charm but I guess I will have to get used to it.
