Sleep not being tracked

Just this week my Fit Bit Charge 2 does not record my sleep for the entire sleep cycle.  As recently as last week it was staying on for the duration even when I got up in the middle of the night. Now it seems to quit when I get up in the 2am range.  Is it a device malfunction or is there something I should be doing to set it differently at the onset or during the evening?  Thanks

Hello @stephenpdx, welcome to the Community Forums!

Thanks for bringing this to my attention and the details that were shared with me. To better assist you with this, can you please let me know when was the first time you experienced this situation and how many times since then? Is your device not recording sleep information at all or Sleep Stages? In the meantime I receive your answers, please make sure that the sleep settings of your device are configured in normal and not sensitive. Also, please review our help article: How do I track my sleep with my Fitbit device? for more information about sleep tracking.

Keep me posted and let me know if you have any additional questions.

Thank you for your response. To answer your questions I started noticing
that the sleep times weren't the least bit accurate on10/28 and then
continued the next day. The following day ( Thursday ) it didn't record
anything. Friday, Saturday and Sunday it seemed to be somewhat back to
normal. And yes I am getting all of the sleep data it just it was
abbreviated for a two day period of time. But perhaps it wasn't able to
understand that I had gotten up and went back to sleep. Not sure what the
total drop of data on Thursday was all about.
