Charge 2 not tracking distance properly

My charge 2 is not tracking distance properly.  I walk the same route every time and i know it is one mile.  When i walk it three times it should show total distance of 3 miles.  It often does not.  Sometimes just over 3 miles but often way under 3 miles.  Sometimes only 2.2 miles or somewhere around there.  My walk is indoors at a Home Depot store.  Maybe it is because it is in doors and not able to use GPS correctly to track the distance.  Anyone else have this issue?

I have a charge 2 which is not tracking the distance I ride, or it picks up half way through my ride.  Its really frustrating it used to track it all the time and now its intermittent.  I have only had it for 2 months.

 

I'm not sure how you tell if the gps is working but it seems to have the location icon on the screen  when I start my ride.

 

Anywayz if anyone can shed some light would be so grateful.

I've often noticed that the little phone icon on the Fitbit screen has a
line drawn through it. When this occurs, it does not track distance or
perhaps it tracks it but does not map it. I'm waiting for Spring to come
around again to see if it will at least track the distance better when
outdoors. Does the Fitbit actually have GPS built into it or is it relying
on your phone gps for tracking? I don't kow the answer to that one.

Hi Chuck1118 no the charge 2 doesn't have gps but it suppose to lock on to it some how.  I've noticed the line through the phone icon too and that means the gps isn't working.  I have exactly the same thing as you will,  track some of my ride and then all of a sudden it switches off.  Watch this space and please fitbit help a sister out lol...
