Charge 2 pairing and sync do not work

I just realized today that I had not been getting the weekly email with the last weeks results.  So I opened the app on both my phone and the PC.  It was showing it had not synced since 12/27/20.  On the PC app it doesn't really let you do much anyway but it was saying Bluetooth is off when I tried to sync there.

On the phone, Pixel 3 - Android 11 version, it would not sync and would not pair.  It had been paired for a couple years.  When looking on the bluetooth devices list I can see the Charge 2 but it will not pair with it.  I have uninstalled the app, turned bluetooth off and on, restarted the phone, connected the Charge 2 to it's charger and did a force connection by holding the button for 4ish seconds until it showed the back on look other Google searching said to try.  I have done all of these steps multiple times and nothing is working to get it to re-pair to the phone.  When I try from the bluetooth list of devices it asks for permission for access for location and such but after about 30 seconds it just goes back to the list of devices available like nothing happened.  When trying to sync in the phone app it just spins a bit then says last synced 12/27/20 and has a red exclamation point.

Based on the Bluetooth is off message from the pc app version I am assuming that maybe the Charge 2 itself no longer works as a bluetooth connection.  The Charge 2 still shows steps and heartbeat and everything normally and still gives it's get up and move notifications and does the rocket ship thing when you reach 10,000 for the day.  But it seems I may no longer be able to actually do any tracking on it.

Not sure there is really a question here other than is this device dead as a connected device?
