Is there any way to remove or make less noticeable the scratches on the plastic cover?

Let me help you with your scratched screen. Fitbit doesn't suggest you polish your screen in any way but you can check a member's comment about what they did here. Additionally I have created a ticket so our Support team can review your case and see if they have any options for you.
