I’m having the same problem with my Charge 2.

Not syncing since 22 April and day's data lost every midnight. Not the first time too. I've tried everything out there but no success. Are they trying to sell us another device? Not me!!

I'm having the same issue. Like you, I've tried everything - watch reset, phone restart, bluetooth on/off, app removed/reinstalled... And still it won't sync

VERY ANNOYING!

Hi MazzaA

Re: Charge2 Looking like Apps not Syncing and Steps stop counting correctly, or device Stopped Syncing or won’t Sync & Heart-rate not always showing active on the Charge2 device & App and many other additional issues; that are going wrong with our Fitbit's right now.

I was just about the let everyone know the best workaround for the Charge2 stopping and its Sync issues. And what MazzaA wrote: is good advice. ‘Fully close the Fitbit App and reopen again’. Sometimes it may also take a pull down from the top menu; to force-a-sync afterwards; it your internet isn’t so good. If that doesn't work. Close App, Reboot iphone and Charge2 and reopen App.

Mostly its just Close App fully - wait a moment and reopen and see the App reinitiate & Sync for it to start working again. Know at some stage until this bug is ironed out; it will stop working. Just follow Close and Open steps again.

Ive seen these bugs many times in the past and done everything you can do to Fix this issue.

The above tips are the best bet for now; until a Fitbit development team iron out these recent bugs and an Update comes available to address these issues. Because thats what a good 90 percent of issues are. Fitbit App bugs.

These issues are also happening on other newer Fitbit devices. So; to those writing - that they don’t wish to upgrade to a newer device because they are happy enough with the Charge2. ‘You don’t need to buy a newer Fitbit in hope to stop these issues’.

You can check the Main Fitbit support forum to see there’s many users suffering the same or similar issues across the newer Fitbit device’s also.

Fingers crossed we don’t have to keep putting up with this for long. Hope this additional info helps others ❤️

Best Wishes

@Mollflanders Glad it helped you 👍🏻
We just have to keep doing the same thing each time it stops working again, at least until Fitbit finally updates this bug 🤞🏻

check if you phone is compatible with the app (for iPhone- iOS12.2 or higher, for Android- OS 7.0 or higher).I didn't know that they upgraded the Android OS version for charge 2. It worked on my Android OS 6.1 before. It worked when I downloaded the app in my android OS 7.0 phone.

Jools2012,, Kiwiseeds, Mollflanders SJamJen, please check if your phone's iOS/OS version is compatible (iPhone iOS 12.2 or higher / Android OS 7.0 or higher) My app before is in Android OS 6.0 then I downloaded the app in my Android OS 7.0 and voila! It synced! This solved my problem.

Hi @Jools2012

Sorry to hear your still having issues.
I need to update my Post for my work around. It definitely fixes issues in iPhones.

I’ve seen this workaround-fix also work on Androids. Though; there are so many different Android based mobiles out there.
Its a whole different ball game.

When you uninstalled the Fitbit App. Did you just uninstall the Fitbit App only? And/or - did you also remove your Fitbit Charge2 from your Fitbit App first? And then uninstall App?

Doing both removal steps, helps run full initialization more thoroughly. And picks up Installation prompts like Bluetooth permissions and security prompts better etc. ONLY follow removing Charge2 device from the Fitbit App - if you’ve already tried uninstalling App and rebooting both phone and Fitbit Charge2 a few times and that’s failed.

Please remember: you need to have your account details info:- Username/Password handy to re-sign/login to Fitbit through the Clean install of the App - this new install can then Sync with your Account data in Fitbit's database; to pull-back your data into the new install. Its important to have all those details before doing anything like removing Devises or Apps to re-install.

Also Note: it’s best to Re-start your Mobile after the uninstalling and/or deleting the device out of your Fitbit App. This method clears any error bugs being cached and remembered.

Footnote: Removing your Charge2 device from your user account section in your Fitbit App, also clears data from your Fitbit wearable and clears its memory. Its another way to format the Charge2 before gifting or selling them.

Hope this info helps.

If it doesn’t you’ve got other potential things going on in your Androids settings Etc.

Perhaps its also a good idea to check that you’ve also got enough storage/memory for the App on your Android. If its getting to full, this could also create an issue of data being Sync and stored.

Hi @Sheridan57

What kind of Mobile device are you using?

Either mobile option: iPhone or Android - of the Fitbit App (You can still follow the same steps that I replied above to @Jools2012 ) to mitigate a further remedy for Charge2.

Note: to all reader’s of this post.

If you have the Fitbit app on ‘multiple devices’ i.e 2 or more Fitbit App installs; across 2 or more devices and they all happen to be open at the same time, this can also cause Sync issues.

i.e. Fitbit App install on both iphone and ipad

i.e  Fitbit App install on both Android mobile and Android based tablet.

For Multiple device users:- it’s best to have your Fitbit App installed on a Master install predominately. That being your iPhone; if your an Apple user. You can install Fitbit on both iphone and ipad. Know it Sync’s better on the iphone out of both devices, if you happen to also own an ipad nearby on the same wifi.

The Fitbit App starts to get a little haywire on the Sync in those Multi-install instances. Specially given that Apple do ‘handoff’ so well. So everything looks and works the same on both devices.

Similar remains true on Android, just a little different terminology and look.
