There have been various comments posted about the problems with charges 2 straps but I wonder what the norm is in terms of lifespan. I have had my Charge 2 for 2 years and have just had to fit my third strap, each of the previous ones lasting about a year. The problem in each case was the same with the connection to the main unit itself no longer holding.
Is this the norm or do some straps last significantly longer even with daily use? A new strap every year seems expensive but is this expected?

You can buy third-party straps on Amazon in sets, at very reasonable prices.

Thanks Johnny. The strap I have just fitted is a cheap one purchased via Amazon and although it is very early days, it seems ok. In fact it seemed to be a better fit to the main unit than was the previous strap which was from Fitbit.
What I was after is knowing what the ‘usual’ lifespan of a charge 2 strap is. Is one a year about the norm or do some actually last significantly longer even with daily use. If it’s one a year it does seem to be a design fault.

Same here. The straps of my charge 2 fall off to easily. Should not happen since it is not a cheap device. Can’t be that you have to replace it every year...?
